Bum Marketing Question

Hi Guys
I have a question regarding bum marketing, I have tried emailing Travis but he is away getting married at the moment, and I have done a search on the forums but no luck there either.

I have used article marketing to make sales with one product, but I now want to crank it up to more products. In the bum marketing strategy it states to write 30 - 50 articles per product you want to push.

When you have done the articles do you post them all at the same time spreading them over 2 or 3 article sites?, or do you post them 3 or 4 per day until you have posted all your articles for that product over 2 or 3 article sites?

I would perhaps write half as many ( or that many if you feel up to it ) but spin them and submit to article directories so that you are essentially submitting different articles to hundreds of article sites.

I personally have not had much luck with articles but i suppose it is a good no investment alternative.

What the hell do u think you're talking about? Contacting Travis Sago about bum marketing. The guy knows nothing about bum marketing, period...

He is just someone who was clever enough to build a list at that time. Just about the time he started the course, affiliate project x was released too. Chris Mcneeny revealed it.

Stop calling it bum marketing... It's article marketing. Article marketing is a long term business model. Not a short term one like the bum marketing.

If you've made sales with one product, I'd tell you to find keywords related to the product. THere's a very good keyword research warrior KateD. She provides it for $9.

    - Write more articles for the product
    - Set up a blog and post your articles first on the blog
    - Link your articles to the landing page/squeeze page using a curiousity based resource box which ends with John Mcearn is the author and writer of the blog (the keyword you are targetting). Link to a post.
    - Create a thirty day autoresponder sequence. If you don't know how to create email copy that sells, pick up email persuasion formula or email espionage by nick brighton.
Email espionage is a WSO and is available cheap.
    - Start writing as many articles as possible.

At the same time, test your squeeze pages. Dominate the niche in its entirety.

"Bum marketing" is a particular type of article marketing which is a kind of "free start" - a method of doing article marketing without the need to spend a penny on it. Have you actually read Travis's work?
Thanks for saying what you did and in the way you done it, as I am sure the reply I would have done to Tylerdrun would surely have got me a lifetime warrior ban

Thanks for that kind rant and rave about article ma....sorry, about Bum Marketing but you completely missed the question. I am so glad there are some happy warriors in today.

Write an article and post it too the major article directories that will actually work and bring you traffic and potential sales first. Ezinearticles.com. Articlebase.com Goarticles.com for starters then submit them to the other directories after they have already been published by the main players for backlinks.

Start off writing free classifieds to get your feet wet at first so you can get used to ranking well on the search engines using the bum marketing method. After that move onto articles.

Hint: Hubpages which is a web 2.0 site is better than all of them I do very well through them. Good luck!

I got my start with bum marketing, so I can tell you that it works for sure. The only thing that I do differently is a bit more in-depth competition analysis. I am not a huge fan of the way Travis analyzes competition, but other than that his method is solid for getting some quick affiliate sales.

What do you mean away getting married? He's been married for a long time

Anyway, when I first started bum marketing I would write 4 to 5 articles every day around a certain niche, then submit them to the top 5 article directories. I would continue until I had 40 to 50 articles written, and this earned me close to $700 the first month.

Try that out, see what the results are for you! It worked great for me

I used a similar formula and it definitely works if you pick good niches and good products to promote. I pulled in almost $1,500 my first month using this method, so I was pretty happy.

Forgive me if my questions sounds stupid but:

Did you put your affiliate links into your articles? Direct them to your sales page? Or redirect to your affiliate links using a domain?

I find that I have about the same results posting more articles to ezine than to multiple directories. It certainly doesn't hurt, but as a bum I have to admit that I don't want to think that much about which directories I've submitted to, I just want to make my job as simple as possible while still getting the results.

As for the number of articles you produce, that really depends on how much money you're aiming to make. You could possibly do less and/or branch out to multiple products and still have really great results.

Thanks warriors for all your advice and help. I have read what you have had to say and I realise where I can make the changes to use articles to promote a number of products.

This Warrior is looking for some answers....not for someone to come on here and bash the guy here found information from and found success with a product. I also have used what Travis puts out and that is how I got my start. I don't care one bit who revealed the "Article Marketing" or "Bum Marketing" and I don't care what you call it either.

Here is my advice because there is more to it than just writing a few articles and submitting them to EZA.

    1. Write 30 articles spread over about 2 weeks and submit them to EZA 2-3 per day
    2. Use a free article spinner and spin each article to get 50-100 new versions and save them on your computer in a folder - spin profit is a good free spinner
    3. Put together a list of 10 top article directories, start with goarticles, articlebase, affsphere, articledashboard, articlecity, and articlesnatch
    4. Submit one of the spun articles to each of the 10 article directories and link to your money site and your EZA article

This will help you to build backlinks to your site and your articles so that you can get listed on google.

I would also continue to write 1-2 articles a day for your successful product and do the same with them. I would also look into other backlinking strategies for your successful product and other traffic methods.

    Just my 2 cents

Great answers, instead of repeating some of what was said I'd like to add some tips on what I like to do:

      - Take the EXACT same article, change up the title a bit and submit to 3-4 different directories.

      - Ping and Digg those article urls.

      - Wait a few days to see what article is indexed the highest

      - Focus on that ONE article by creating some backlinks for it

      - Rinse and repeat with more articles/keywords

Mass submitting a ton of articles at one time is sort of the "shotgun" approach... you're just blasting a bunch out with the hopes that a few will stick. The approach I explained above is more systematic and works quite well.

Also, there is another strategy when it comes to submitting lots of articles to EZA. It is favorable to get your articles approved as close to the end of the day as possible. Why? Because if your article is one of the last approved it will remain in the "most recent" category until the next morning. This can result in a lot of views from people who are browsing the EZA directory. If you have a premium account you can choose when your articles go live.

      To your success,
      Matt
