How do I increase my sales with my mailing list?

Hey WarriorForum members,

I have a huge double opt-in mailing list, in my opinion, which contains over 50,000 subscribers. My subscribers are VERY active and I have ENORMOUS response rates, meaning that A LOT of people in my list open my emails frequently. The one problem I have with my email campaigns is I don't get a conversion rate with my sales. I think I have an EXTREMELY great chance of earning at least $10,000 every month, but I just can't convert all of these opened emails into a great amount of sales. Can you guys maybe offer me some tips to increase my conversion rate and my sales?

Thank you to all of those who post helpful replies
  • The key to getting conversions through your mailing list campaigns is by having great content. If you are writing it yourself and its not working out for you, you may think of outsourcing the work.

You are going to want to give out great information for free, but also leave them wanting more. Using this method you can entice them to click through the links in your email to find out more about the products or services you are promoting. Once they are they are there its all up to the sales/landing page to convert them.
  • Hello,

If your subscribers are VERY active and you have ENORMOUS response rates (80%? 90%?) then how's possible that your conversion rates are VERY LOW?

That just doesn't make any sense to me...

  • Wow, too big a question to answer in a brief post, however I would offer you three principles to work on:

    1) Recruit buyers - not freebie seekers.
    2) Build a 'business' relationship with your optins - not a 'friends' relationship.
    3) Train your subscribers - to expect promotions from you, and to click through from your emails

  • Hello,
Do you know what type of content they are looking for ? How did they come to join yourlist ? what was offered when they opt-in ?

These are questions you should ask yourself and write down the answers so you can decide what type of list you have and what they are possibly looking for. Getting it down to know what they are looking for is your key, find that then offer high quality content for it and you will have what you want.

    • I would say periodically survey your list to find their problems. It builds rapport and you can develop products that meet these needs.

Underpromise and Overdeliver. Give them products that are useful but lead to purchasing something. Preferrably your product but an affiliate offer will suffice.

I must agree with Allen that you must get buyers not freebie seekers. Size is a "fun" metric but buyers is more important.

Hope that gives you some ideas to think about!
