is it better to include the company address in the sale page or not?

Anything you can do to help increase transparency and build some level of credibility/trust is always worth trying...

If you sell products in niche markets that aren't exactly "computer savvy", some people may be skeptical about buying online.

In addition to your address, you may want to setup a help desk some people will contact you before making the purchase just to make sure you're "real".

Posting your various social networking usernames/profiles also helps and can build some social proof and gives the perspective buyer another means to contact you (which they like).

You seem to be in the UK

    I am not a lawyer.

If you are a Ltd company it is a legal requirement along with other company registration info.

If you are collecting personal data, even if you are not a limited company, I believe it is also a legal requirement, at least as far as a privacy policy, but you might then get away with not having a physical address.

In you autoresponder you have to have it anyway

It is a local SEO factor, and maybe an overall trust factor with Google, both with organic and PPC.

If you are not a Ltd company, and don't have a business address (such as a shop) I would be inclined to use a P.O. Box purely for personal security and to avoid random people knocking at your door.

Credibility is important but so is your privacy.
A Help Desk that fails to keep your email private
    from spammers is worthless.
Spend the extra money for a more professional one.

And as Andy pointed out, use a P.O. Box

Have you ever bought anything off a sales page that didn't have it? I haven't.

I also think it adds to credibility.

If for whatever reason you are concerned, then test it both ways and see which one gives you the best results.

I think inserting an address, phone number and a credible photograph increases the transparency.

So, it is better if you have 'em on your page.
