Your growth is going to be slow in the beginning. Not only because you're new, but because you can't pump in a lot of capital to get rolling.

Keeping focused, working daily and consistently, while learning along the way with some patience will get you far. Make sure you make use of the tracking tools available to help you learn.

If you're 15 and you spend enough time on internet marketing to be successful, my guess is your studies and personal life will suffer greatly.

Improve your english (a lot), write something good and sell it for passive revenue. Then come back in 5 years.

The first thing I recommend is that you get some money to invest.

I recommend that you do that by selling some old stuff for yourself or neighbors on Ebay.

Once you've done that and gotten enough capital, buy a program that will teach you how to make money online like wealthy affiliate, blogging to the bank, or whatever.

      Good luck

I don't because ebay is essentially a one-shot deal - most of the time. I'd rather build on repeat visitors whom I can convert into repeat customers and loyal fans. Together we'll have a long and mutually profitable relationship.

      This is very very true.

At least, restrain yourself until you have your own credit card (18 years old).

You don't need to learn everything under the sun in internet marketing. Learning 20% of skill that will bring 80% of your revenue in the future is the way to go.

If you insist on learning MMO with limitation on your capital - the consequences is that you'll learn lots of thing that doesn't really necessary for your online business. You'll learn 80% technique that will only bring 20% of income.

Ironically, you'll think that everything that you learn - when you read it from internet and you get it from google - is always good advice. Even if it's mostly bad advice and actually hurt you by taking your time from doing something that really necessary. (Ex: Have friends - get connection, being happy, etc...)

Another consequences is you'll abandon your study, your school, and your parents. Not because you're a bad kid. But because human just can't focus on two things simultaneously.

My advice: Give up on internet marketing altogether. Because you basically have no clue about all of this thing.

Yeah... you might be know what is affiliate marketing. You might be know how adsense can turn your site into passive income stream. However, know how stuff works and making money from it is completely different thing.

Make money online is hard. Not because you're young and more stupid than me, but mainly because you compete with almost anyone in the globe who have internet connection and need real money to pay real bills - or need real money to pay for his food.

These people are the worst competitor you can get, because they're super determined in achieving their goal. So they'll use almost anything to make their site on first page of google. And when I say anything - I mean ANYTHING.

Unless you know what you're doing and you know your figure when you do stuff...

Unless you have good coach that will show you the right way...

or unless you know how to not make these people your enemy but your affiliate instead...

Then stay away from internet marketing.

    whitefish,

I recommend you juice yourself into internet marketing. Easiest way to do this is by hitting the LAST PAGE button on the main forum and start reading from back to front. You are going to find that Affiliate Sales and/or Google Adsense are going to be some of the easier ways to make money without spending any.

I would also encourage you to gather as much information as you can on niche and keyword research. These two things are going to be vital to your early success or painfully slow first weeks/months. Once you have learned how to properly pick a niche and keyword head over to blogger and create an account.

This is where you may struggle, judging from your English writing abilities in your post. Start a blog on your niche and then work affiliate products and google adsense into the blog. To get free traffic that is targeted find three or four message boards specific to your niche and start posting with your link the sig line.

Lastly, and most importantly you are are setting yourself up for failure if you don't do some heavy duty reading on this forum and others BEFORE getting started. If you don't know how to do keyword/niche research you are going to have a very hard time trying to make cash. Especially because you have no money to sink into marketing.

I first suggest to do some reasearch on Basic on site Seo. Just so you will have a better understanding on how to publish your content correctly. And this will help you to understand keyword research, a bit better.

With keyword research learn the basics, but focus more on low low comp, and keywords that have to do with buying and not just research, as you probably don't have a website or listbuilding capabilities.

I would use something like blogger or wordpress for a landing page.
I would use Articles and/or videos for traffic sources.

QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY... and much content.

All your content on landing pages and traffic pages should be great information applied to your niche, If you can get this down as a permanent rule early, you will do fine in your IM journey.

You don't need money.. but since you're 15, I recommend you get started early and start LEARNING

        Learning can be 100% free

Learn HTML/CSS, learn PHP/MySQL, get good with content management systems like wordpress. Learn some basic graphic editing, get a copy of photoshop if you can (maybe there's a copy you can use for free on a school computer). Learn about SEO and building traffic.

Learn these skills, then maybe come back in a few months to start getting into internet marketing. If you can build all of your own sites and do your own work, your investment will be minimal. If you have these skills, you can build your own network... you can also MAKE MONEY by selling your internet skills -save up a bit and pour it into the venture of your choosing.

Good advice..... and FREE! Once you have a marketable skill, offer your services over at Fiverr and related sites. You don't need a website and hosting for that. And to sign up is FREE!

You say your parents won't help out until they see some money coming in. Get some of those gigs, show them you're making money, and maybe they will help you go from there...... your own website, hosting, etc.

          Now, GET AFTER IT!!

I would recommend studying as much about Internet Marketing as you can. There are a lot of free advertising and promotions that can be done to promote affiliate products. The more you study the better you will become at how to market these products. It will require a little bit of money or though not a whole lot. Just start saving every penny you get so hopefully you can invest into some paid content.

Just start small with a free blog
    Add some Google Adsense
Talk with blog owners in your same niche or topic and ask to guest post on their site linking to yours
And then once you have generated some money turn your blog into a domain

Starting out small is honestly the best way to go when starting out. No money involved and you can learn a ton free here on the WF if you just ask. Good luck.

If you have patience, start without any budget. It will take more time, more work, ... and soon you will be bored. That's the worst scenario.

Starting with it even 100$, it really helps.

Whenever I start a new website I invest 1-4k$ (depending on the niche) and don't expect anything in 6 months if I am not doing PPC or something like that.

I see a lot of good advice, but honestly, If you have, Word or Open Office, an internet connection, a video camera and a facebook account you can make something happen.

If I where you I'd use the opportunity to do a little research on an evergreen market Health, Wealth, Or Love...And since you are only 15, let's be responsible and stay away from that last one

Honestly, I'd just start to put together a list of the things you need to do to get your business off of the ground as a marketer, and start compiling it one short report at a time as you work through it.

For instance, if you're planning on building a list and you have no cash then sacrifice a few 5 dollar pizza days figure out what you can do around the house to earn some scratch get some hosting from host gator an autoresponder, learn to use gimp & throw up a landing page using the free theme from WordPress Squeeze Page , or any suitable alternative and document how you use facebook, twitter, Forums & guest posting to build a list.

Then sell it to your list.

Even if you don't have a ton of knowledge about something, there are tools at your disposal ala' "Search Automator Force", linkedin answers, of course here.

Just build a couple of customized search engines in Search Automator Force the tool will shouw you exactly how to do it and give yourself 2 hrs a to explore ways to build that list and right down what works.

I must say that you really don't need to do a lot of CSS or HTML learning, give away your reports, build a list, follow-up and pay someone to do it for you later when you make a couple of bucks.

Your education has already started... You're already in the game...now shoot the dang ball.

At your age, it makes sense to go with something like video games or other similar things where you already have a natural advantage. It would be nice if you had at least $100 to start with though. I'd try asking help from your other relatives/friends. Once you get 100-200 dollars you'll have a much easier time because you'll be able to buy traffic, which can get you up and running fast.

  • HEADS UP: LONG POST

Hi Whitefish. You can start out by knowing if you can legally send and receive online payments and checks, register as a member of the most popular online social communities and networks, market your own products on the Internet and sign up as an affiliate of merchants, CPA advertisers and CPC networks, according to the laws of your country as well as to the terms and policies of those third party entities...

Then, you can move forward to building your online business with this simple yet effective model, though of course I recommend starting this out after you've substantially improved your English writing skills, or even your writing skills in your native language:

Helping Others Instantly Satisfy Their Immediate Needs and Easily Solve Their Urgent Problems They Can't Satisfy Nor Solve on Their Own

You can list down major or main subject areas where people have immediate needs and urgent problems. Next would be to go to the most popular online social communities frequented by these groups of people...

They most likely go to these social networks because they expect to talk to others with similar needs and problems. They possibly do this regularly to learn about the different observations, inferences, test results, actual experience, theories, opinions, recommendations and advice from others, especially experts in those specialized subject areas...

Gather as much specific information as you can about their particular needs and problems along with other details about their experience, observations and so on. This can tell you if they're more than willing to spend their money to buy on the Internet solutions that actually work...

My advice is for you to target groups of people with needs and problems you can help with your specialized expertise...

Ways to earn from your business plans are next. Identify products you can develop and sell on your website, or affiliate products to market and CPA offers or CPC ads to display on your website...

You need $15 at this point. That's after you pinpoint a group of people regularly searching and purchasing solutions on the Internet to instantly satisfy their immediate needs and easily solve their urgent problems...

What's the $15 for? Domain registration and Web host server account acquisition. That's after you develop an easy to remember, professional sounding, convenient to type business name and domain name...

I use NameCheap.Com for registering .com, .org and .net domain names and Hostgator for CPanel Web host services, though of course there are other options. Domain registration fees = Annual, usually around $5/year. Web hosting services = Mostly monthly, around $10/month...

Next would be to setup your website's CMS. I recommended CPanel Web hosting services above because CPanel has Fantastico, which you can use to easily install a Wordpress instance in your server, through an easy to follow wizard. I also recommend Wordpress as a good website CMS...

You can Google free Wordpress themes to view the available themes you can use. Of course: I recommend choosing one which best suits the Web browsing and visual appearance preferences of your target group of people. Also download Wordpress plugins, such as Sociable among others...

Upload and activate your chosen Wordpress theme and plugins. Customize Wordpress and plugin settings. Go to the "images" folder inside your "themes" folder of your server. Use a graphics design and editing application to develop a logo and banner as well as other images for your website. Replace bundled original images with your own logo banner and images...

Remember: Your business name should communicate the benefits provided by the solutions you're offering to your target viewers. A sub header, like "Just Do It" for "Nike", should clear up the message intended by your business name. If you can't do a "Just Do It", then just don't. Finally, your logo should tie everything up in a nice bundle, and the objective is: For your target viewers to remember your business name, sub header if any and logo as a possible excellent resource for the specific benefits offered by the particular solutions they need...

Next would be to pick a mailing list management script, a service provider offering easy solutions to create Web forms with automated features, in case you don't know HTML and PHP, and a secure online payment service processor, like PayPal...

Write your website's static pages next. These can include "About Us", "Contact Us" and "Privacy Policy" pages among others...

develop your products or sign up as an affiliate of your chosen merchants and as a publisher of the CPA offers and CPC ads you selected. My advice is for you to ask the merchants of your affiliate products if they give away free, fully functional review copies to their affiliates. Download trial versions in case they don't...

Develop your free digital info product you'll offer as a free download after your viewers sign up to your mailing list, at this point. Your free product should offer useful insights, advice and recommendations about your products or affiliate products among other relevant things. It should also offer helpful tips, strategies and techniques which can maximize the benefits offered by the features of your products or affiliate offers...

Write five to ten posts useful for your target viewers and relevant to your offers next...

Print out coupon-sized ads. Write an enticing description about the benefits your free digital info product can offer your target buyers. Place your business name and the URL of your free digital info product on those printouts. Give it away in places near you where you think a lot of your target buyers go on a regular basis...

Print out coupon-sized ads. Write an enticing description about the prizes your target buyers can win by going to your pages where your CPA offers are displayed, so they can fill out those forms or do things required by your CPA offers...

Regarding the offline techniques above: See if you can use local newspapers, magazines and classified ads to promote your free product and offers for free...

Register as a member of the most popular online social communities where your target viewers hang out, as mentioned above. Update your profile pages with your photos, images, personal details and website info. Regularly help other members of those online social communities by giving info, advice, tips and strategies useful for solving their problems or questions and satisfying their needs, of course their problems and needs relevant to your website posts, free digital info product, products or affiliate products and offers...

    Continue helping others by:

    •giving them printouts so they'd learn about your free digital info product and offers;
    •contributing useful content to those online social networks;
    •writing beneficial content on your website;

    •updating your free digital info product;
    •improving your products and launching new products, or marketing new affiliate products and other offers;
•establishing professional business relationships with your viewers and customers; and
•building mutually beneficial relationships with possible joint venture partners...

You'd need just a few hours of your time each day once you're at the point where you should do the bulleted points above. You can hire your own employees to do those things for you, monitor your results and improve your campaigns, once you're earning substantial net profits from your business. It'd be good to document everything you do, including your result monitoring systems, so you can easily train others. Best of luck!

    Welcome to the WF, whitefish!

Take the summer vacation to spend a couple of hours each day reading the forum. Learn the basics, find a niche, and developing a plan of what you want to do and how you intend to do it, then before school starts you can be up and running and spending no more than an hour a day on your online business.

The rest of the time, you need to be finding ways to make money for start-up costs. I would aim for US$300 - you won't need that much, but you should have extra in reserve.

You're going to need to register a domain name and pay for hosting your website - everything can wait until the money starts coming in. The pricing varies but generally it's going to cost around US$10-12 for the domain name and US$4-12/month for hosting. (You get a better price if you pay for 2-years, and some hosts will include the domain name free with that package.)

Rather than wasting a lot of time learning HTML/CSS and all that technical mumbo-jumbo, most people start with a WordPress blog (no cost for that software), and some combination of Adsense and affiliate marketing. Just understand that you'll have to have focused, original content and format it so you get a decent ranking in the search engines so people can find your website. All that can and should be written by you before you get your domain name and hosting. After school starts, you'll only need to write two or three posts to your blog each week, and maybe writing an article or guest blogging once a month to once a week. (The frequency is entirely up to you, but the more you write, the broader you expose yourself, the more and quicker you'll build your traffic and income.)

There are many other teens here in the forums, and I'm sure they'll find you soon. They probably have insights and work-arounds that will help WRT your age group and particularly juggling work and school.

    LOL!

How has no one noticed that this thread is a year old and got randomly bumped by "BdubC" today? The OP posted twice and is long gone. The thread's last reply was a year ago. Don't waste your time typing to the OP anymore, he will never read it.

I guess we aren't as anal about post dates.

The real flaw is in the way threads are bumped DOWN, not up! Unless someone replies, threads disappear down a black hole until someone retrieves them by digging way deeper than most of us bother to go.

It doesn't matter whether the OP is long gone or not, the thread contains rock solid advice and is still valid this year!
