    Hi John,

Don't know about software, but have you tried link shortening?

Two of the most popular ones are Tiny URL and Bud URL.

Quick Google search for either of those terms will bring you right to it.

Just a quick idea for ya though...

No matter what affiliate program you're working with (Clickbank, CJ, whatever)...

    The links look nasty.

Long, jumbled letters and numbers that make no sense to the person that you WANT to click them.

Even shortened links can look suspicious to the more experienced web browser... and for this reason I recommend buying a domain name that relates to the product you're promoting as an affiliate.

Do this for every product you want to promote... and don't worry if the .com is gone for whatever you decide on. Just go with the .info in that case.

IMO, that's a much smarter way of doing things. The only place I see a lot of URL shortening going on is at Twitter... and that honestly gets annoying.

Your best bet is to use an iframe...

Do you mean that can track stats like HyperTracker? Other than that I always use Budurl.com because so far it can't be made to reveal the original cloaked link and it offers click tracking.

I've tried a lot of different ways, and I agree with Dr Net above...
LinkTrackr which has just come out to Gobala's subscriber list, looks like a gamechanger.

-It's web based (no scripts to install)
-You can use your own domains and custom extensions (for complete control over branding)
-It's brain dead simple and quick to set up a new link (or edit old ones)
-Not only does it shorten long affiliate links, it also cloaks them (so you can create your own title and description tags and the user thinks they are on your site)
    -Built in tracking

As if all that weren't enough, there's also the option to place a viral toolbar at the top of every page you create a link for which makes it very easy for people to tweet or post your link to Facebook... and when they do, the viral power of those social networks takes over and your affiliate link can be showing up in many people's newsfeeds very quickly. Needless to say, when anyone clicks the link, it's your affiliate commission.

I just found out about it, haven't used it yet, but like I said, if it does everything it claims to do, it should be very popular. Only downside: it's not free
