I don't know why anyone would notice this without looking into it. How on Earth did you notice this?

Also, I don't really see much potential. But interesting nonetheless.

Nope, I am not in that niche. So there is hardly any chance of me doing it.

That's because you're not a girl. Do you know how popular bejeweled jeans, teeshirts and accessories are? There's lots of potential for this niche.

Makes me want to run out and buy a Bedazzler to bejewel all my clothes ... lol.

    This could have potential:

49,500 people search for [bejeweled blitz cheat] (exact match) per month.

There are some social sites in the top 10 for this keyword term.

Can you write an eBook on bejeweled blitz cheat and sell it for $7 (you can upsell games and other cheats on the back end)

Then [bejeweled twist] gets 60k exact search per month - another keyword to target

Not at the moment but it's something I should be doing ... but I am trying to concentrate one one thing at a time, so maybe it is best I don't

Yeah, good point about sticking to one thing and making it work. You seem to have a markerters mind though, by quickly working through how you would exploit that market.

I would definitely errs on the side of caution with that one. There's hundreds of sites out there that already provide the information you're packaging at a price, for free. I really don't think it would be worth investing a massive amount of time in SEO to promote any sort of related product that will at best have a 0.001% conversion rate.

I don't see any cost-effective potential with this. Although it's impressive that so many people care about bejewled

Do you actively search for trends you can exploit...or you don't need to do that because of your business model?

I agree, to a point, but 2 points come to mind:

        1) You actually don't know what type of information he would use or how he is packaging it at the moment.

        2) there is a ton of free information out there yet people still pay for it when it is packaged well and provides value.

Logic would dictate that you are right, but the fact of the matter is that a lot of information people sell can be found for free online. Selling fundamental information as a low priced information product is not difficult, as long as you know how to package it and can somehow make your offer stand out from the crowd.

A lot of money has been made by people who go after markets where a lot of "free" information already exists.

Well if we didn't have a girls input we would of missed out on these numbers for online commercial intention...no less than 98% for bejeweled jeans, bejweled blouse and bejeweled pants. Obviously the girls wanna buy this stuff!

          All the best,

Absolutely. There are people in this world that could sell salt to a slug. Unless you're the first place that people go for this bejewelled info (i.e. Google top 3) then you'll be beaten to the sale. If you have the ability to successfully package the product and more importantly the time and money to get top 3 spots for a competetive keyphrase, then go for it. But when it comes down to it, there are very few people who fulfil both of these. I for one would never take this up.

p.s. I was having a dig about people like bejewelled, my gf is a big fan and so are some of her friends. Although she's not one to cheat!

p.p.s. I agree with ewen that this is a good discussion. I'm interested for more POVs on the topic.

Fascinating how different people look at a market...some don't see it worth persuing even if they had the time...and others can see a way to exploit it at a higher level than others.

      Loving this discussion, thanks guys.

I'm posting the full reply here by Jill Carpenter in regard to a question on "Is it possible to make a killing online".

Seems right on topic here because she has seen it, been part of it...that's exploiting trends early on.

        Enjoy the brain food!

        Yes - there is.

It is called being prepared, and being in the right place at the right time.

It does not happen to everyone - but it can happen. I have seen, witnessed, and participated it first hand.

If you can find a hot new product before it gets a massive exposure (via a magazine or what ever) and you have been given this information in advance, you can run a google adwords campaign on the cheap (get permission to bid on name of product that is unheard of and it will be really cheap) and if you can set up a website with just a few pages you can make a killing.

It is a quick kill, you need to be prepared to invest for it when it happens, but you can make a lot of money in a short period.

But again - it is all about being prepared and having your ear to the ground.
