First, let me say that your writing skills are superb. I hope to read more of your posts soon.

I love WordPress mainly because Google loves WordPress. It's also very easy to use and the plugins and themes are plentiful.

Without question. Just be sure to do frequent backups.

I always write my post in a text or Word document and save it on my local server. I never write directly in WP or rely on WP to save my posts the way I want them even with a backup. But yes, do frequent backups just the same, and never type directly in the browser unless it's something short. I've had Mozilla freeze up or have inadvertently hit the "back" button too many times.

Great thought on saving content... you never know when you could run into Host problems and get turned off, banned, or decide to switch to a better service.

          My vote is for Wordpress...

Easy to use, easy to add content, 1000's of theme choices and plugin's.

          Best of luck!

Definitely a WP blog - I have a few blogs and it's really easy to set up and simple to get unique content on there if you don't have time to always post yourself. There are also plugins you can use to capture name/email data from a free report you can offer - thereby keep your visitors coming back for more content / offers.
