You read all the time that you should target your article to one specific keyword that is specific to your subject. On occasion, I've accidentally targeted more than one keyword in an article and I was just wondering if it makes much sense to do this deliberately.
A simple article writing and keyword question

I'm not sure what the downside would be if you did. Google searches for content to match a specific keyword. It won't notice that you have 2 different keywords in there. So why does it matter if you target just one keyword or several in one article?
Will Google ignore the same content when indexing each specific keyword?
Just thinking that if you can naturally insert more than one keyword into an article, it could get more hits.
Or is it a bigger problem with the article databases, although I don't see how.
