How Many Sites Do You Have? Do You Add New Ones Weekly?

Im heavily marketing about 3 sites right now and cant find the time in the day (since I work 10 hour days at my "regular job") to build more or even market them right.

How many sites do you build a week and how do yo have time to market them all as well. It seems if your in a crowded nich then to come up on top is hard, but as far as making money with adsense and a few affiliates I guess its posible.

Was looking at my adsense avg for one of my sites so far ($6-7) and though now if I x this say by 10 sites doing the same avg thats not bad per day LOL. So Im asking you how to manage the sites and if its even worth it. And if so I guess wordpress is the way (even though I use Xsitepro)

    It's better to build up one site to profitable and then start your next site. You don't want to be overburdened with 100 sites that aren't making money. It's overwhelming.

      but on the other hand if you build more site its like practice makes perfect. also if you are using different offers then you give yourself a better chance of hitting that keyword or offer that takes off.

      but you are right you only build websites when you are able to, e.g have enough time willing and capable to maintain all etc etc.

      Got only few sites that keep us busy but there is lot of ideas and domain name waiting to be developed.

      It depends on a website but in most cases it is most time consuming to get the site stared and once there is enough members generating the content then it become easier but it still takes lot of time to monitor and moderate the sites.

          Yes I started the site because I do love muffins maybe even too much.

          As the site is still in early stages I am using some affiliate banners and maybe adsense ( if the ads come up relevant enough )
          Later on I might also try Amazon associate program.

    The best thing is to work in small stages. That is, grow a single site until it can self maintain. Only then, start the second one. The first one will continue to bring in income. That way, over a longer period you can collect together a number of sites, all with cumulative income.

    At some point, you'll get to the stage where it's wortwhile to outsource the site development. Once you're there, you can have no end of sites making $6 to $7 a day, and still be profiting from each one - even after the outsource costs are paid.

        Go take a look at this WSO = well worth the money if you want to learn about adsense... Zeus is well respected warrior who has extensive knowledge with adsense but he actually walks the walk as well if you know what I mean

    I think it really depends on the person. Between my husband and I we have about five or six. I manage two he manages the rest, that is why I can't keep track. Anyway, I think that if you want to really push a site to success, the more time you dedicate to one the easier it will be. Therefore, I think it will be counterproductive to have more than that. Now, don't take me the wrong way, as I mentioned before it really depends on the person's capacities, availability, and attitude. Not everyone can handle such a heavy work load.

    Hello,

    Well for a start well done for getting a site to be making $3-7 a day thats not bad and a lot of people on here would love to be earning that much.

    I have a lot of sites but then my business model is fairly low maintenance so once a site is built I literally spend 20 mins a month on it and even then I dont have to.

    However, I rather have 3 well built sites than 30 crap sites.

    I build a new site every week for 2 months then drop back for a month promoting them then carry on. but then I am full time so this is obviously a little easier for me to do.

    Do yur other sites make money yet?

    Develop systems. Systems can be followed by outsource staff and make it a lot easier.

    If 3 adsense sites are overloading you then perhaps your process is far too complicated. Look for a way to get same results with less work.

    With my adsense site i just make them, blast some links and then then maybe add a page or two every now and then.

    Maybe you could develop different sites to use different business models:

    1 - Adsense
    2 - Clickbank
    3 - Offline
    4 - CPA
    5 - etc

    This way, if one gets screwed, you have all the rest of YOUR network. Besides, you don't put all your eggs in one basket...

    Thanx everyone for the pointers. Right now for this month im going to market the sites and in August well see how they go. I am noticing though on one site that I just gave a new nice facelift the adsens has dropped like 90%....I have less adsense trying to make it more per click but I may have F'uped!

      That's the reason you build one site, get it making money - put it on auto pilot and then rinse and repeat.

      People who get into IM and build a slew of low performing sites never seem to get out of that rut.

      If I were you, I'd take the site that had a 90% drop in income and change it back to it's money making state.

      Afterwords, I'd reverse engineer my competition and mimic their BLs and site layout with a slight degree of uniqueness on the layout.

      And then, rinse and repeat

    Quality over quantity, build the site up to where it is making at least $100 a week, then move on to the next one, that way if something dramatic happens to one of your sites, you didn't lose your entire income.

    Reach 10 websites, then focus on beefing each of them up content wise.

    I own two sites and have a hard enough time promoting those. My advise to you would be to promote the hell out of the ones you have until they are successful before you move on.

    Yes, it is not the number of sites you have - you can make millions with one good site.

    I take it you mean authority sites?

    In this case make sure you make the best of each site and build them up before you move on to the next one.

      Making 1 profitable site is a good way to start. But to get one site making money, you may need to try/test several different site and choose the winner.

      But you don't want to have all your eggs in one basket so you should try to get a few sites making money which means even more testing and choosing winners.

      And on and on and...

    When I started out my initial goal was 10 sites, each making at least 100.00 per day. Lofty goal for a newb for sure, but eventually I made it work. I bought 10 domains, got my hosting and started working my a$$ off.

    Thing is, looking back now I truly believe it would have taken me a lot less time had I started with 1 site instead of 10. Spreading my time over so many topics and maintaining focus was a lot harder than it needed to be.

    I'm at 42 sites now - but that has taken me a few years because I micromanage all of them.

    Guess my best advice would be what others have said - get 1 site doing what you want it to do and then add another, rinse and repeat.

        I don't disclose my income to anyone, even my wife lol! Just don't think it's very classy, and wild income claims always read as arrogant and can leave many readers with unrealistic expectations for their own efforts. Let's just say I make a very good living and it's a job I wouldn't trade for anything.

        All of the sites I maintain make money at this point, some have reached their income potential while my newer sites/blogs have yet to achieve my minimum goals - which is kinda the nature of what we do.

    I have 2 main sites, and 1 smaller site that is rarely updated.

    1 - vbulletin forum
    2 - wordpress blogs

    But one of the wordpress blogs is rarely updated.

      After going on a domain buying spree when I was trying to follow the "build lots of sites quickly" mentality, I'm focusing seriously now on only three sites, with the most attention going to the one whose keyword has the most exact searches (more than twice as many searches as the other two.)

      I'm not at the money-generating stage yet, but sure hope that will follow soon. I'm trying to avoid getting distracted; I know I need to be focusing now on promotion, promotion, and more promotion.

      Actually, right now I couldn't even tell you what the other domains are...maybe I'll get around to them before they expire!

    I think sticking with some main sites such as 4 and really working on them then working mini sites around them to see if one takes off, then if it does add it to the focus list. I find that this has worked well for me. Sitting on about 12 sites...
