ATTENTION: Stop Using Free Web Hosts And Free Domains. You Are Leaving Money On The Table!

Hey guys,

This post is a must read for newbies who are starting out... I began my marketing journey when I turned 13. All I knew was commission junction and using ppc to promote products(i ordered a local cd which told me what was IM without telling me how to promote 'em). It just introduced me to adwords and told me go to google adwords and set up an account.

At that time, none of my parents had a credit card. So adwords was virtually impossible. I tried to find a way desperately for over a year.

And then affiliate project x released and it changed my game. It released when I was 13 but I got hold of it when I was 14. It revealed article marketing to me.

So I chose a commission junction product which pays me $20 commission. I began promoting it and started to see success slowly. My first check started coming in and I ranked in the top on google.

However, I mainly used free sites coz i didn;t have a cc. 50webs.com was giving a way .co.cc domains. So I used that domain to redirect to my affiliate offer from my squidoo, hubpages and ezinearticles.

I created a $100 a month automated income stream. But at the same time, my pc crashed completely. So I brought a new one and there was no recovery of passwords. The only pasword I remembered ws ezinearticles.

But I still intesnely promoted the offers, my money pages for one month. For a total of two months work(writing 20 articles - 1 a day), I ended up creating a $100 per month profitable income stream.

It stayed like that forever. But here's what happened recently: The vendor decided to pull out of commission junction.

Now that he pulled himself out of CJ, all my link redirects at the free host sites were not accessible. And I couldn't redirect 'em. Bang, I am losing money. It's been six months.

But I wrote 3 articles and set up a info domain wordpress blog. I didn't rank that high yet. But I am making about $70 per month from that little work(no mass submissions, social bookmarks). Just plain pinging, rss submit to feedage, ezinearticles backlinks(3). And a total of 5 articles on my blog(2 unique).

June was my highest with 90 bucks. It was just a few hours of work, that's it. Now I'm ranking in the top 10 for product keyword for the old squidoo page and ezinearticles page. But I can't edit 'em now. I could be making easily $200 plus current income if I had just had the details.

So here's what I have to tell you:

- Never use free domains(even url forwarding like tinyurl - i see so many people doing that)
- It's okay to use free web hosts as long as they are trusted.

Well that's it. I will create another thread on creating a profitable income stream of $100 a month in another post.

Free web host's quality of service varies from one to one. You should always read the "terms of service" before venturing out.

I agree with the OP entirely you should never use free hosting or autoresponders etc.

    1. For the sake of $5 a month with hostgator or equivelent you have control over your domains. No nasty advertising for them on your site. (You look cheap if your customers can see your using cheap hosting)

    2. free autoresponders mean there isn't a cat in hells chance your deliverability rate is going to be any good (so what's the point of putting all that work in)

      Totally agree.

It's a bit like using free business cards vs. paid for ones. Or begging for travel expenses when you go to a job interview. Etc. Etc.

Some things are dirty cheap and are worth every penny. Website hosting, domain names and auto-responders are good examples of these.

And my advice to those with little cash to start with - if you don't have the money for a domain name, then write 2 articles ($4 each) for someone and you will have. Then write just 2 articles a week for the money to pay for the auto-responder and hosting.
