Hi,

I just stumbled upon a great domain name, and I don't know if I should sell it individually or flip it as a site.

I kinda need quick cash and really can't make up my mind.

The domain is strongly related to adult market. It's 8 letters and has "sex" in the front of it, so it's "sex...com".

I don't want to register it just yet but I would love to hear your feedback. What do you think? Just sell the domain or flip in 3 months?

You could develop the site quickly (like a couple days)... and then flip it. I've never sold domain names so I couldn't give you any advice on that. Domains through NameCheap are only $8... so what do you got to lose?

I can't tell you what's best for you. I guess you need to ask yourself a few questions:

    1. How long would it take you to create the site?

    2. How long would it take you to sell the site for the price you want?

    3. How long would it take you to just sell the domain for the price you want?

    4. How badly and how quickly do you need the money?

Bottom line -- if you have a bit more time, and if you think you can make a site that's significantly more valuable than the domain alone, then create a site. But if the ROI of both time and money doesn't change much between site and domain because you're just going to throw up some content and put it to market before building traffic, links, etc... then maybe just selling the domain is your best option.

Again, it depends on what you think the domain vs. site is worth, your own skills, and how fast you need the $. So it's really a decision you need to make.

However, as Garrett mentioned, you should purchase the name ASAP. I've heard of folks searching for a name one day, discovering it's available, and then deciding later they'll purchase (sometimes just hours later) -- and the name is gone.

So if you are for sure going to do something with the name, buy it now.
