CB Website Review Please

I am getting ready to launch my first clickbank product which is a 32 page PDF on how a small business or independent service person, such as an Avon Rep, can get more customers. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on the site. I created the text but paid someone to code the site for me, neither of us were very creative...

I also have an affilliate page with two articles written and an email to send to your mailing lists if you are interested in selling this one. If you are interested in seeing the affilliate page just PM me and I'll send you the link. I would appreciate any feedback you could give me on the affilliate page as well. Anything I can do to help you sell the product.

I was thinking of offering the guide at $47 and setting it up for a 60/40 split, 60% for affilliates and 40% for me so they would earn roughly $25 per sale.

Any advice you give is much appreciated. The website is www.mysmbhelp.com

Thanks

  • there is nothing at the bottom of the page for a visitor to do, like a "buy" button would be good, they just get to the bottom, they actually read the whole thing and there is nothing to do, I would change that, it's strange as is

Also, you don't highlight words just sections. You have a blue section and a red section. A lot of people skim these pages and they end up hitting the highlighted words, so you want to take advantage of that.

Just curious. I clicked on your e-book and Clickbank says it has been removed due to terms of service violation...???

I thought your title of your product and headline were not specific enough.

Get more clients for what types of business? Get more clients how? Get what types of clients?

I think if I came to your site in a different context, I would leave immediately because I'm not going to invest my time in trying to figure out what you're selling. It's your job to make it apparent.

But it's probably better than my terrible first clickbank product. Good luck with it!

Hey John, I like the topic you have chosen. I'm sure you've got a good product!

My first thing, like Alexa said above, is that $47 might be a bit steep. And I'm not saying it isn't worth that, but your niche is quite broad and isn't targeting a hungry, tight knit group of rabid buyers--in which case it might command a higher price.

Next, you said you were doing a product launch. You said you were putting it on Clickbank, but that's not a launch. Do you have an actual launch set up? I have stuff on the topic but I'm not promoting it here. If you are doing a "soft launch", meaning you are orchestrating it mainly on your own without JV partners--here is a big clue.

On Desmond Ong's blog he gives away an absolutely tremendous opt-in bonus titled, Killer Product Launch. I'm not associated with him in any way, but I got his book some time ago and it is superb for people soft launching their products. Fantastic.

John, if you PM me with an email address I'll give you something for free that will help you with your sale page.

I'm not being critical, but I'd rather come across as a hard ass and have you hate me--and have you make a million dollars as a result rather than not say some things.

This is my opinion only, others may disagree.

    1. The text runs too far across the page. That makes it harder to read--people like easy. I would indent the text about 3/4 of an inch inside of your main container (the white box your text sits in). Trust me, that will make it look better.

    2. I would make the Get More Customers at the top of the page be in black text.

    3. You have some grammatical errors. Many people think that doesn't matter--I think it does.

    4. I would kill the light blue text at the top of the page. The visitors have to do too much work to get through that. You've got about 5-6 seconds to hook visitors in to your message and you're not doing that. You might use that text later in the body copy but it's not right there.

    5. You need to come up with a killer headline. I mean an eye-popping, put-them-on-the-edge-of-their-chair, drop dead killer headline that gets their attention. That is probably the most important part of the page. Without that you will lose tons of visitors.

    6. Under your headline I would put a bulleted list of 4-6 of the biggest benefits people will get in your book. In other words, what's in it for them. You really have to spell that out and put it in front of them.

    7. Way too much color. Kill all of the red text in the middle of your page. It's scary!
I would only use color for the sub-headlines and I wouldn't use that bright of a red. Use more of a maroon or brownish red. With the blue borders the bright red is too much. The color distracts the reader from the message of your text. It's all about the message in your text.

    8. Use smaller bite-sized pieces in your copy. Some paragraphs are too long and they will look longer if you make wider white space around the borders. Tip: The sub-headlines used in the body copy are great if a visitor could copy and paste each one into their notepad and have them read like a synopsis of your entire page.

Just trying to help John. Hope I don't come across critical--just want to help you make it a success for you.

Thank you all for the great feedback so far. I will be making some changes to the site very soon based on the awesome suggestions you have made.

The site is not launched yet, I have not signed up for clickbank yet, I wanted to work on the site a bit before I got it setup.

Seems I used the word "launch" incorrectly. I meant it as I would be signing the product up with clickbank and trying to sell it. At this time, I have no partners or any other launch type of activities setup but i will be looking into this more. My plan was to tweak the site a bit and then post here in the forums and see if I could drum up some interest from potential affilliates. I will be reading more about the soft-launch idea from Mike above.

Thank you all so much for the help.
