I need advice and encouragement to start Internet Marketing

Hello! I am new here to Warrior Forum. I'm from the Philippines and I'm ready to start my own Internet marketing business. I got sick and tired of my low-paying job here so I quit my work last year. For the past few months I've been reading books and watching videos about Internet marketing, but couldn't get things started. I guess it was information overload or maybe I didn't know where to start.

Does anybody have a success story? I want to know how you guys started in this business and how you made it big as well as the challenges you faced along the way. I want to be inspired and motivated to start my business. So far I've been wasting my time surfing the Internet and doing nothing. I really want to get things started.

And also, I would like to know how much money I need to start Internet marketing. My sister promised to lend me $100 for this. I plan to spend this money on domain names and an autoresponder (I already have the hosting). So is this enough?

    $100 bucks will get you the necessities I would start a self hosted Wordpress blog, and signup for Awebers $1.00 trial for the first month.

    Its gonna be a tough roller coaster ride filled with a lot of ups and downs but keep plugging away you will eventually get to where you want to be. Set aside 3-4 hours a night to work on your business. or whatevers feasible and keep to that schedule. Your business will grow and grow daily until one day its a success. You will have the money, and traffic to prove it!

    Pick a niche that interests you and that is gonna be viable for years to come. It will be easier to update your blog regularly adding good unique content that the search engines will reward you for by higher serp rankings. Start and build that email list and drive traffic to your blog the more traffic, the more money.

    1.Update your blog at least 3 times a week
    2. start, and build an email list
    3. Drive tons of targeted traffic to your blog.

    These are the 3 main keys to online success. Just get to work!

    Just read and browse the threads here, I'm sure that you can get some bits and pieces of the most important things you need to know in Internet Marketing.

    Just like you, I still haven't reach the promised land of successful Internet Marketing, yet I just continue to learn new things, do some testing there, some trial-and-error marketing here.

    We'll get there someday, hindi ka nag-iisa.

      Hi Loyski,

      Welcome here in Warrior Forum. You can find a lot of good stuff here in this forum and you will learn a lot from other people here as well.. Good thing that you already have a web hosting, now you need to have a domain and an autoresponder, those two are well below $100.

      Since you are just starting out yet, I suggest to build a subscribers list immediately, I assume that you already have an idea on what list building is since you know what an autoresponder is.

      Make a research, know what niche you want to target to. It seems that you are a good writer, you can also sell your writing services in WSO section of this forum for you to earn extra money that you can use to invest for other things that you might need.

      When I first started out, I just focused on list building, since I always heard that the "money is in the list", I just followed the advice of some of the marketers here. I can't tell you the exact step-by-step plan on how you can do it on a daily basis, but if that's what interests you, don't hesitate to PM me. In the mean time, go get those autoresponder and domain name for yourself.

        I think you have made the right decision to come into the IM fold, but as entrepreneurjay said, be prepared for ups and downs on the journey.

        I believe you hit the nail on the head with the main problem faced by individuals new to Internet Marketing, and that is the abundance of information available! Faced by the tons of information available it is very easy to become overwhelmed and just not do anything.


        Therefore for what it is worth, here are my tips for you, and a pretty much proven method to get you off and running:
        1. Don't buy or download any more training material, unless it is something that is going to teach you something you specifically need.
        2. Create/obtain a decent report that you can giveaway. If you don't have the confidence to create something from scratch, there are many JV Giveaway events that allow you to down load reports you can then giveaway.
        3. Create a squeeze page for the giveaway gift (if you are lucky the product you downloaded may already have a squeeze page that just needs minor alterations). Ensure your autoresponder code is included within the squeeze page.
        4. Upload the squeeze page to your webspace/domain name.
        5. Create autoresponder messages relating to the original gift, advertising affiliate products. Try to make the messages (approx)80% valuable information 20% promotion.
        6. Drive traffic to your squeeze page.
        7. Repeat as many time as you want.
        I have obviously simplified things a little, but hopefully this at least gives you one strategy that is proven and fairly simple to follow.

        Whatever you do, I for one will be rooting for you.

    Hey Loyski,
    I would say that to begin with, you don't even have to invest a penny to make your first dollars on im. I say that because i never invested a penny at first because there is plenty of ways to suceed with free stuff on internet.

    The only place where i would spend money would be on Information, Books, etc. but even then, i found a lot of my best information in FREE EBOOKS.

    You can build free websites with squidoo, hubpages, etc. and they really are enough! Get some free traffic to these, and bank some money! It really is that easy.

    The hottest part about all that is that if you invest your time in long term niche/products as I did for my first websites, they will never stop proffiting and earning! Month after month without doing nothing and i tell you, this is the best part

      For now, I need to get a new computer because my old PC bogged down. So I have to get some extra income through freelancing. There's definitely no turning back. I'm prime and ready to enter the Internet marketing field!

        good luck...if you are selling specific products a good thing might be to use bgbng....it will give you most everything you need to run a campaign

    What you should do is start off working as a VA to raise funds. You can make $400 a month working for another internet marketer and get trained in IM at the same time. You can do your own projects as well at night etc.
