Backlinks and google search position

I'm using linkvana to help boost rankings.

What i've found is that when i add backlinks for a particular search result my rankings will drop slightly.

Has anyone else experienced the same?

Sometimes it's hard to tell what's going on with rankings and my website has only been around for two months, maybe a months worth of search results for the specific keywords so will there be a kind of rebound effect which will then boost the result as it should?

I find it hard to see results with linkvana at times since google is so slow at showing results of any work you put in making backlinks.

    I've noticed this to. I added links from Linkvana to a site of mine that was on page 3 of Google and now it's gone from the top 30 results. I'm not sure what's going on -- maybe I added too many to quickly -- but I only have 20 pointing so far. I also use AMA (Article Marketing Automation) and have about 20 pointing from some articles. Maybe it is a case of the links not looking natural enough. But I'm paying a heck of a lot of money each month for these sites...

    I use linkvana as well and have not noticed that....I do see the 'google dance' which is normal for my sites - dancing around position 1 thru 10 on page one...but not significant bumps to page 2,3,4 etc.

    I started with linkvana about 5 months ago for about 10 sites, first every day posts (love the outsourcing!) - then moved to every other day, now on every 3rd day...will keep that there for 3 months, then move to once a week.

    I also do other strategically placed backlinks other than linkvana.

      I'm not sure either. I only know that so far, I'm not seeing huge results. Maybe too many postings too soon? Time will tell I suppose.

    You really have to have patience with this game, from indexing to actually looking at stable results seems to take 1-2months. I don't know how an already stable and aged keyword would benefit form linvana, maybe that's how it's best used.

    It was just strange that as i added more links i watched my ranking drop 1-10 spots every few days.

    as far as linkvana is concerned, hopefully you guys aren't putting all your eggs in one basket and they are the majority of your links. If so, you need to diversify. All it will take is for google to catch a sniff and all those links will disappear overnight. I am not saying that linkvana isn't a good service...you just need to be prudent or all that work will disappear.

    Creating natural backlinks through commenting on blogs is probably the fastest other way to gain links which seem to me to be also quite time consuming when you have to look for do-follows.

    Could you give me an example of another wayt og ain some good backlinks?

    What strategy do you use to build backlinks?

      Actually, I do two things....

      1. build farm sites (one link per farm site)- I never cross link or expose my network. That is a big faux pas if you go this route. There is a very easy way to do this and look legit along the way. Some of my farm sites are PR6's AND are built to be relevant because the farm site is revamped for whatever niche I am targeting after I build the PR. There is nothing better than getting a contextual link within your content...nothing.
      2. Buy links from other webmaster's in vertical markets- Most of my competition won't touch me if I am on their heels. However, in competitive markets, I search for vertical markets to buy links from. I don't want the obvious links (side bar, ect.) I get them to put the link on a page that is archived way back that has PR...once again, the link is contextual in the content itself.
      I only use "do follow" commenting for my farm sites (and no, I don't spam).
