Google doesn't allow exit pops. But it's okay to
use pop over because that doesn't result
in the opening of a new window.

    Hope this helps.

  • Google will give you a hard time driving traffic to a landing page with pop ups or pop unders. My advise? create a duplicate of your landing page for Adwords and remove the pop up.

Did you fully read (and understand) the guidelines before you got in the google adwords program?

If your going to be involved in the google adwords program, you should be able to recite (from memory) just about all of the rules and guidelines. If you can't, then you need to review all of the google policies until you can.

I know the answer - but I'am not going to tell you. Because you need to go to google and read through the terms of service yourself.

If you have a question about a google policy, you need to go to google and get your information from there.

Pop overs are fine. I confirm this with the Google support themselves.

Just make sure no additional windows are formed.

Its OK to use a pop over and even an exit pop over but NEVER use a pop up and don't alter the window in any way.In simple words: If visitors want to leave your site - Let them!

I know this because I've done this several time and wasn't banned - and it had no affect on my quality score.

The Following Is Quoted from Adwords:

    Your site's interaction with a visitor's computer:
    • Avoid altering users' browser behavior or settings (such as back button functionality or browser window size) without first getting their permission.
    • If your site automatically installs software, be upfront about the installation and allow for easy removal. Refer to Google's Software Principles for more guidelines.
    ....

    Navigability

    • Avoid excessive use of pop-ups, pop-unders, and other obtrusive elements throughout your site.

Does the exitsplash script count as a pop-up, since it only tells u to click cancel and it redirects you to a new page in the same browser?
