When you get unsolicited emails, wouldn't it be nice to have canned email to send back that sounds something like:

Hello, and thank you for writing me. I am REALLY interested to learn more, and definitely have money to spend on this. If you have more information you can send me, I would really like to read more about this, because I want to get started on this right away.

Meanwhile, would you please take a look at these websites?

I want to get your thoughts on how I could work with the information you sent with my websites. Then I want to follow up with you ASAP.

Thank you and I can't wait to hear back from you soon!

Then setup their email address to get an auto reply of the same message every time they email you.

  • I think a virus would do just fine
  • You can do that in Gmail. It's called "canned responses" or some such thing, but it does just that and you can chose who it goes to.

    • This is a terrible idea. Let me explain ...

Much of the email spam uses forged or 'borrowed' email addresses. The spammer is not dumb enough to use their own email.

So if you sent a reply message you are not replying to the spammer. Your reply is either going into a blackhole, or YOU JUST SPAMMED AN INNOCENT VICTIM whose email address was being used by the original spammer.

But since you are using your real email address - you have a problem.
      • [ 9 ] Thanks
  • lol thats funny as hell they need a taste of their own medicine good idea!
  • Someone once told me to actually look at what spammers are promoting. They obviously are making money with it otherwise they would not do it.

He claims it has helped him find some pretty neat programs etc that make him money... he of course markets it differently.
  • I "LOVE" that!!! That's hilarious, I wish it were doable, but alas, just like the guy who cut me of in traffic earlier today, after making an illegal left turn, (with what looked like a grin on his face) I wish I could do the revenge route, but, I'll have to resign myself to reading entertaining snippets like your post above.

    Thanks : )
  • Please don't do that. Google 'Joe Job' to find out why.

    • This would be fun (but pointless) except for the small matter that Brian (kindsvater) pointed out.

      It's just begging for trouble...

      Paul
  • The original sender would never see the response as it would never reach them.
  • But HOW can you do that!?!?!? Many change their email addresses, so even a proper address won't work! Many people spam you, so you would have to setup a lot. Auto reply EVERYONE you say? DISASTER!!!!!!! They may say YOU sent it, or that some authorized sender sent it, and then you will either get so much mail it will be INCREDIBLE, or be labeled a SPAMMER! still more spammers use an invalid address, and nobody will get the email.

You wondered how come nobody thought of this before? THAT is why!

    Steve
  • The thing is that by replying you are flagging it is a live email address. Just ignore it.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Yea, you guys are right, but fortunately there are every increasing tools for stopping spam.
