What duplicate content is and what is not.
Hello guys, i m making this post to explain what many people think duplicate content is and what it really is.
If you re about to start a website you probably heard the term "duplicate content". But do yo know what really is? Many of newbies in this business have no clue what duplicate content is and what are the rules of it.
Here's what many people think what duplicate content is.
They think that if they write an article or some content for their website they cannot use the same article or content to another blog or website. This is WRONG. Also they think that if they do that the Google will just show 1 result of the same piece of content.
Now.. What duplicate content is and what are the rules of it.
Duplicate content is when you have the same content or article on the same website or in a different page of that website. Sometimes duplicate content can be found on different websites that using the same content in order to serve the online community. People do this to get as many websites out there as possible without having to work.
Many of you have heard the phrase "Google Duplicate Content Penalty".
You may have thought that Google could smack you with a penalty by banning your website if you use duplicate content. Well, this is false. There is no such thing as Google Duplicate Content penalty and this comes directly from Google's Webmaster Central Blog.
If Google suspects that you are trying to fool it with duplicate content to get your website's rank high it will penalize you by either not indexing your site or it will be placed in a quarantine area where no one will see it.
If you are concerned about duplicate content of your website the best thing to do is to determine if anybody else is using your information. The best way to find out if someone else using your information is by running your content through copyscape. This will tell you if anybody else is using your information.
