A Handy Little Tool That Can Save You Some Time

I recently stumbled on a neat little Web-based tool that you might find useful. Basically, it checks availability of a given name or handle on several social media sites, plus domain name registrations and search engine results.

You enter a brand name, user name or domain name... for example, "warrior". It then checks to see if that name is registered on Twitter, Netlog, Flickr, LinkedIn, Last.fm, Foursquare, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Joined.In, Delicious, and Gowalla. (By the way, "warrior" is supposedly available on Foursquare, Facebook, and Joined.In).

It also checks to see if the domain name is available using any of the following TLDs: .COM, .NET, .ORG, .EU, .BE, .NL, .DE, .FR, .CO.UK, and .US.

Finally, it gives you the number of results for your name in Google, YouTube, Yahoo, and Flickr.

    Great tool that I didn't know I needed until now. I think that makes sense.

    Very valuable if you want to register the same username in different social media sites. It is nice to see what is available ahead of time.
