Is it fair to Pre-Judge action takers?

I just want fellow warriors opinions on this matter. I don't think its fair to bash newbees for not taking action, and when they do take action the bashing still doesn't stop. A lot of warriors forget where they come from, they act as if they didn't have rough start as well.

When a newbee asks a question some warriors make nasty comments as if they should not have asked for help and when newbees take action they are Pre-Judged and no one wants to support or give advice. I see it as no one on this forum started off successful and should help the action takers IMHO. I wish you all the best.

Sometimes there's a fine line between asking for help and being lazy. For example, somebody asking a question about something that's been discussed and debated at length here such as domain extensions or duplicate content (aka Groundhog Day threads).

Also, some of the "bashing" will happen due to genuine disagreements over which methods ranging from Adsense vs CPA offers, large scale niche site building vs. building a single site based on passion, using profile links vs. thinking of them as spam, etc., etc. Sometimes new people will walk head on into one of these situations.

I do agree with you, and I will admit there is a lot of lazy newbees but mainly because they have been lied to about IM, and I will also agree with the spamming accusation. Thanks for the reply.

This is what iirks me about the whole "take action" mentality....

You can't just "take action" and magically make something work. You have to take calculated actions... and knowing what actions to take, takes time learning.

Everyone's so quick to jump on the "take action" bandwagon and spout off responses like "just take action" without specifying WHAT action to take that newbies end up running around in circles taking action but never getting anywhere....

Don't get me wrong... there is a serious problem with analysis paralysis and laziness... but there's another large problem with unfocused random action taking.

Well said, newbies do seem to take action but the wrong way. And that does lead to them just running in circles and ultimately quitting. Thanks for commenting. All the best.

Well, you say they've been lied to, and they have ... but they've been lied to because it's common knowledge that there are a whole bunch of dreamers out there looking for ways to get rich without working.

That's precisely why you get so many lazy newbies ... So, one guy started two threads ...
Who wants to be my nanny
Tell me exactly how to make money and don't bother to tell me to read the forum

He was pretty well bashed in both threads and deservedly so. He is what is called a time suck ... completely unwilling to actually do any work on his own and wants it all handed to him.

There's times when some are unjustly harsh, but it's not all the time.

Your right, sometimes it is well deserved in that type of case. I'm not justifying the fact that sometimes a bash is well needed.

Adsense, adwords, clickbank, PPC, CPA, JV, article marketing, MFA, micro niche, RSS etc... I'm already confusing myself I know it took me a while to figure out what that stuff was.

I'm sure there are some people who have a solid grasp on the many different ways to make money online but I think I can speak for most of us that we really only know a few methods in any depth and only have a vague understanding of the others.

Poor newbies, they are swimming in a sea of confusion with sharks.
This is very true. And there are plenty of sharks that are waiting to take advantage of that situation.

A hearty amen to this buddy. I - wrongly - have lost my patience with newbies at times. I never get nasty, sometimes I just rush through giving my advice instead of taking the time to help them properly. I try to make up for it with the next person I help. I was there and so was every single person at one time or another in their lives. Nobody came out of the womb an expert with every venture they partake in.

Each creative act is prospered. We are connected. When you help someone out you will be helped by that person, or more likely someone else. You gain a great reputation for being a kind helper and a crappy one for being not nice.

As an aside, I never fault people for being nasty with me when starting out. I do however, remember them and some seem to forget that driven newbies become successful in their own right, sometimes more successful then the mentors who looked down on them. Karma's kinda funny like that

Thanks for the post. And I know by how you say you carry yourself, that you are successful, because you do give advice, even if it is rushed at least you did contribute. And isn't karma funny like that, the one's that are looked down upon are some of the one's people look up to in the end. All the best.

Sometimes people are a little too over-sensitive, too. Maybe you haven't been to many IM forums, I don't know, but I have seen people really get bashed on some. What you see here most of the time is simply straight talk. If someone can't handle straight talk on a forum, how long do you think they're going to last in business?

I can take a bashing but I'm not speaking on my behalf just the newbies. I didn't say that a bashing isn't in order sometimes, just saying sometimes I think it isn't called for in some situations.

As far as being rude, and bashing is rude, that's a banning offence here. If someone bashes another Warrior, new or old, report them or at least call them on it.

Having said that here is my take on action. The below information is irrefutable.

    Thought plus Action.

    Period.

To me that boils down to "Take Action" because it's not very likely that someone will take action without thinking about it first. At least not on the Internet.

It's not like the off line world where you can thoughtlessly run out in front of a bus and get squished.

Online you do have to think about it before you submit an article, run a WSO or SEO your blog.

OK, one qualification, I'm not talking about get rich quick or even getting rich. I am and always have talked about Making/Earning Money and anyone, I mean anyone can make some money online.

    BUT NOT WITHOUT TAKING ACTION!

As I said in another post, when we start adding adjectives to the word action we weaken it.

Example. Huge, Focused, Massive, Purposeful, Bla Bla Bla. Taking action is enough.

    Enough for what?

Enough to find if what you are doing will work or not.

If your action works for you (builds your list, makes you money, gains you fame, makes you feel warm or fuzzy or whatever else you want) then repeat it.

If your action does not work, stop it.

Either way it's win win. You either find what works for you or you find what doesn't work for you. Both are valuable pieces of information.

That is the only way you will ever find out if your action will work for you.

Action is enough. Why do we make this stuff so hard?

First off, I am honored for a seasoned warrior as your self to take the time and input on my topic. Also your post is very valuable to me as you stressed something very important that we all need to note. And taking action is definitely the key to find out if something works for us or not. Thanks again for the valuable info, all the best.

Don't take it personal buddy, didn't say all warriors where in this mindset, just some. And I totally agree with you in saying that what is needed is a kick in the butt. But as I stated earlier, I'm talking about the inappropriate remarks that are made that are no where near valuable to the newbie.

You always gotta admire a go-getter.

Go-getters use the forum "search" function before asking really basic questions. It's hard to get upset with a go-getter...

Yes, go-getters are always admire. And they are usually the one's that succeed. No matter what critics they come to or any other obstacle, they still don't let others opinions determine their destination. I know because I consider myself a go-getter, no one in this world is going to give you anything you have to go after what you want.

      All the best.
