At first I would assume that many of you are here because you weren't able to make it in the offline world...

But after doing this for 7months.,.. I almost feel as if this is 100x more difficult

I am here to learn as much as I can about the craft I decided to pursue. I learn so much here and the information has been absolutely invaluable to the success I have already seen and the success I know is awaiting me in the future.

Without knowing what your own personal goals are in the world of IM it would be hard to comment on why you feel this is anymore difficult than trying to open a business in the offline world.

I wouldn't say that I wasn't "able to make it in the offline world" except that the idea of a real job makes me want to vomit. Never again will I let someone think of me as their "subordinate," I would rather kill myself.

I think the big mistake that a lot of people make is that they think of the online world as some mysterious place where you need a $47 WSO to succeed instead of just doing what has worked for thousands of years: find out what people want and give it to them. I would say this - Look at what most people are doing and then don't do that.

    I did both. Why not?

    Offline businesses and online.

The online business is a lifestyle choice.

I can pull anchor and travel, spend time with my family, show up to "work" in my p.j. s...

If someone (entrepreneurs) couldn't make it offline, I don't think they are going to make it online either.

    Just MHO.

And the time and effort I have put in... if i were doing a normal job it would be a few thousand dollars
Before this I had my own offline Business.
It started out the same. Scraping for the first year or two
before any sign of real success.
Almost every new business venture starts off slow,
be it a restaurant or online.

I want to learn how to sell our product effectively online. It's an extension of our main offline biz, and something we both know inside out, so we wanted to try online sales. I think our motivation is different from a lot of people here, we arent in to writing articles etc or trying to make money in any way other than by our product.

I have learned a fair bit so far, gotten ideas on places to advertise, and what things to avoid. It's all working well, slow but steady and we are pleased.

On the contrary, the older one gets, the sharper and fuller the mind should be. I am 62 yrs old and still enjoying life. What about you?

    Two main reasons

    1. I was tired of running statistical analysis (except I think I do even more of that now).
    2. I was tired of having the occasional monkey throw up on me. Seriously monkeys, with little furry tails and everything. Except they aren't so cute when they are A) throwing up on you, B) have explosive diarrhea, or C) sinking their teeth into your arm.

So all in all, I'd have to say working at home is more enjoyable, cleaner, and significantly safer. haha

Because I wanted to learn, grow, and be apart of a helpful and informative community.

It wasn't because "I couldn't make it in the offline world", in fact, I don't think that was the case for most of us here. I wanted to work online because it was the perfect "location". I could work anywhere I want (as long as there's an internet connection), I could travel whenever I want (which turned out to be more important than I thought) and the best part, unlike a lot of jobs out there, the possibilities are endless.

I'm here because I can't stand working for anybody, can't stand having a rude and a boss like a robot. I'm a professional in my field and I can get a good salary, but I hate the idea of being in the office and leaving it in certain times, and fighting with non polite bosses everyday, and can't take a long vacation whenever I want.
The idea here is to be FREE, to work whenever I want, wherever I want. I do not have to stick to a certain place or a certain time. I can decide to leave my current location to anywhere in the world and work from there.

I had learned many things here, and I think I can make it from here too.

I'm here because I don't want to be working a normal job for the rest of my life as I'm very unemployable. The longest I could keep a job was for like 9 months. I'm only 24 and already had over 10-15 different jobs. I lost the count. Plus there is nothing out there for me, I could care less. Basically when I was working a normal job I was counting away the minutes every single day *talking about a happy life* :$... wasn't that long ago I was fired from my last job. What a fresh breath of relief. Never again will I go back.

Yeah IM marketing is tough, but if you commit to it, it will become more profitable overtime than a normal day job. Plus IM is the easiest way to become a millionaire, that's another reason why IM is so appealing.
