Youtube Piggyback Technique

Hey Everyone,
Some of you may know this tip but I thought that some people may be able to learn a new trick

This is an affiliate sales technique I use every so often to test a product out.

The cool thing..... It only take me a few minutes to set it up.

Title: Youtube Piggyback Technique
Recipe: See Below

Ingredients:
1) Any "Software" Affiliate Product
2) Youtube Video (that someone else produced)
3) Linkedtube.com

Directions:
1) Jump over to any site that sells a software affiliate product and find something that you like and can write a headline for.

For example: There is a site that sells a youtube friend adder that puts all of the adding on autopilot.... I hate the program....but I like that it sells

2) Search Youtube for a Video "how-to" of that product. You're looking for a a how-to that doesn't have a site listed on it.

3) Once you've found a good video that teaches how to use the software, go sign up as an affiliate for that software.

4) Jump over to Linkedtube.com and start by putting the youtube address of the video in. Put you're affiliate link in. Then put a call to action as the button text.

5) Set up a web page that has the headline and the linkedtube video (linkedtube will give you an embed code when you're done setting everything up)....that's it for now.... throw some google analytics code on it (so you can learn some stuff about the people that land there) and throw the page up at a domain (it works better if you register something related obviously.

6) Head over to Google Adwords and drive some traffic using related keywords....

Start watching the sales come in.....

Bake Time: 5-10 minutes

I know it sounds simple....but I've got $90 in my pocket right now that proves that this works....
This obviously isn't going to make you a millionaire....but you can make some fast cash and learn just how powerful a "how-to" video is as a sales tool.

The best part is.... you don't have to cut the video

Hope that helps someone!

Ben

      No problem Yukon!
Glad you liked it and I hope it helps.

The key is finding a good how-to vid.
      Those are gold!
The nice thing is that youtube has a pretty decent search engine for just that purpose

Interesting method. I saw a similar type idea that just targets viral videos where the owner isn't currently utilizing it for marketing. Just throw them $20 and put your URL in their description alongside an embedded ad and get cheaper traffic than ppc. Only isse is that it's not quite as targeted but at least you're not paying per click or impression.

      Hey eflo,
I've used that method as well with some success! (remember the whole Lebron James moving to Miami thing...that was a good video )....

Anywho... the key with the adwords marketing is making sure that you're targeting the right keyword.

If you use a "buy" keyword (meaning a keyword that someone would only type in if they were ready to spend some cash)..... it works really well and your ROI is worth the ad buy.

Thanks for the comment! Would love to hear more youtube tips

How much did you spend on AdWord to earn $90 in sales?

I'm wondering the same thing. Is the ROI good enough that its worth investing?

        Absolutely....
The keywords that I'm bidding on are not in demand....to say the least....
My bad on not including that in the original post.

Many of these software packages get searches for their specific product name....and alot of the time... there isn't anyone bidding on those terms.... all you really have to do is make sure your domain name, title tags, and h1 heading are relevant and you can get away with some pretty low ad rates.

        Hope that helps!

Like I said before....not going to make you rich....but there is a positive ROI....so..... one would think you could test it out....and scale from there..... hint....hint

Yeah. I'm thinking it might be a better idea to host the video yourself if you want to make sure its going to work.

I've busted this out several times... but for the particular product that I was citing as an example (the one that put the $90 in my pocket).... $10-20 over a 2 week period.

It takes a little longer to get clicks....but when I was getting them...they seemed to be quality...

    Hope that helps

To be completely fair.... I was surprised as hell that it converted as well as it did

I'd be curious as to the ethical considerations of piggybacking(as described in your post) and profiting of somebody Else's video without their knowledge or consent.

More to the point, how is this any different from downloading somebody Else's video, then re-uploading it as your own?

    Respectfully
    Chris

      Hey Chris,
Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I just now caught your question.
To be 100% honest... You're right... Using this video in the way I described "rides the line" in the same way that thousands of "legit blogs" use content from youtube everyday (is that ok?....I'm really not sure)

I think the real lesson to be learned from this technique is that "video walkthroughs" sell.

My recommended use of this technique is to throw up a vid where someone walks a customer through a tutorial of a product and use the above piggyback technique.

If it works.... Cut your own video and improve upon the weak points of the video that you had in place. If you do it right...you've got a better converting page as well as a more sound model for actually generating that income.

Overall this technique is nice for testing purposes. (when you don't want to cut a video and need to get something up fast to see if it will work).

      Thanks for the comment,
We're in more of an agreement about this technique than you probably think
