Product Creation & Design: Do You Go BULK or Concise?

Hello all.

Dan Kennedy loves to send big boxes of "stuff".

I noticed, while at a friends house the other day, that he got P90x and the big ol box was sitting there.

I like that.

However, soemtimes I feel like CONCISE is also the move. This is what Perry Belcher advocates (I think).

What are your thoughts?

Also, what are the KEY elements to a product?

1.) Fast Start Guide
2.) Main Guide
3.) Audio CD's of the Main Manual / Guide
4.) Bonus Materials of Done-For-You stuff

?

What else?

Are there any products that explain how to create the ultimate product?

    Something concise usually.

Don't go bulky unless you have an effective way of showing the user some positive results quickly. Consumers are more impatient than ever. They need immediate gratification.

I think concise is better for a desperate need, but bulk is better for irrational passion... ?

    Just a thought.

I also think when shipping something physical, bulk is better.

The problem with big bulky products is that they are difficult for most people to consume and then implement. If they don't implement your training (assuming it's training....) then they won't get results. If they don't get results then there's a good chance they won't buy from you again.

If you have a smaller product that people can use and implement and get good results from, there's a much higher chance that they'll become a repeat customer.

      Totally agree.

To add on, my opinion is most people are impatient and they want the "push-button" kind of product to see instant result. If I am going to sell a bulky product I will choose "Done-for-you" stuff. I found that most of the big marketers are more tend to sell bigger and bigger "done-for-you", "in-a-box" product.

For example, Mark Ling used to teach people how to build affiliate website in his Affiloblueprint, however, his new coming product AffiloJetPack is basically a "business-in-a-box":

      75+ Top Quality Newsletters
      3 Mini-eBooks
      Custom Jetpack Wordpress Theme
      Amazing Squeeze Pages
      Push-button Installation of Your Website
      20 High Quality Articles
One Click Installation and Web Hosting
      Full Training for Traffic Generation
      5 Niche Sites

      These are what included.

Instead of giving a "big-box" of "do this do that" coaching program, consider giving "done for you" service. I guess people are more willing to pay a higher price too. Just my thought.
