Is Anyone Making $$$ with PLR?

Fellow Warriors...one of the most common pieces of advice here is to that "to make a good income, come up with your own product"

I've seen countless times and would really like to know how many of you have actually done that...taken a PLR product, branded it and marketed in for your business...

And if so, are there are "classic blueprints" for achieving such success?

As always, any and all enlightenment is greatly appreciated!

Not yet, but I don't see why you couldn't. One thing I have found though is that you can't generate traffic with PLR articles.

I make very good money with PLR. You have to do it right though.

I made a post here on the warrior forum about it a few days ago. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...el-rights.html

I have a PLR ebook that I purchased - it's on a particular dog breed and of very high quality. I did not change a thing in it.

Then I made a blog on that dog breed and put a newsletter signup on the side plus a link to the ebook sales page.

Of course, I did my keyword research and the appropriate on page and off page SEO for my chosen keywords.

I put maybe 2-3 days of work total into the project about a year ago. Probably spend a couple of hours every 2 or 3 months getting a few more links to the site.

I sell the book for $17 and make around 3 sales a month.

I could probably do much better if I did the following:

    1. Create a proper squeeze page that gives away a report to get the email address
    2. Direct people to the squeeze page (right now all my opt ins come from people who go to the blog and see the signup on the sidebar. This is not very efficient.
    3. Get more traffic to the blog by adding more articles and content distribution along with varied linking.

So, to answer the question.... Yes, you can make money with PLR.

PLR opens the doors for you to quickly represent many products without the time and expense of building them. If a product doesn't sell, you can move onto another one without having wasted lots of time and money developing the product.

Having said that, you need to promote the product as you would any other product. This requires time, effort, and probably some money...there's no way around that. But if done properly, the rewards can be amazing.

If you want to make money selling PLR info products here's what you must consider...

1 is it something people are actually looking to buy? (does it include great benefits?)

2 can you make your version of the product stand out? (easy to do with bonuses, reformatting the sales letter...)

3 can you find or do you have access to potential customers? (you won't sell anything if you don't know where to find the customers)

Yes, I do very well with PLR products and as you spend more time working with PLR products you will start to develop a feel for what will sell and what will not sell.

In fact, PLR is a seperate division within my online business because I prefer to sell PLR products outside of IM related topics. For IM products I focus more on creating my own material.

What makes PLR so versatile and profitable is the fact that PLR products are great for building a list and providing quality content to a list.

There are some very savvy marketers that take a high quality PLR product and turn it into a killer original product because when done properly it provides an excellent ROI.

Consider this, you can purchase a PLR product for $77 and then spend an additional $150 to make it your own product for a total investment of $227. If you sell the new product for $27 you only have to sell 9 copies in order to have a profit. If you sell it for $37 then you only need to sell 7 copies in order to be in profit.

    Respectfully,
    Tim

      Tim, very good post.

I have done quite well with PLR's as a list builder. I recently purchased a higher quality plr in a niche I was trying out and added some very good bonuses and it worked well. I enjoy marketing marketing more than writing so they work for me.

I'm still very new to this, so excuse my ignorance. Can you take PLR, make it your own product and then become a vendor at clickbank and offer the new product that way? Are there pitfalls to that model?

Yes, we make and sell and buy PLR and use it all the time in many ways to make money:

      - as giveaways with signs ups
      - revise and market with it
      - use in membership sites
      - sell 'as is' or revised, or repurposed, packaged with other products / services, etc.

Check with the license that comes packaged with the PLR.

PLR can be a goldmine if you know what to do.

You can't just take the original and market it as is. Instead, it pays to create new covers, add a more appropriate introduction and conclusion, add resources links, perhaps break it into a couple separate reports, etc.

PLR can pay for itself faster than anything I've ever seen.

Quality PLR can do alot for you. When done properly, you can fit PLR into virtually any business model.

I think the biggest problem with PLR is the junk that's saturated the market. Poorly-written PLR has gotten a bad reputation (and rightly so - have you seen some of that stuff?!?), and I think alot of people have wrongly jumped to the conclusion that all PLR is bad. It certainly isn't, but you have to weed through all the junk to find PLR that can really help you.

I would say yes, you sure can make money selling PLR.

It's like various shops and departmental stores selling the same house hold items: whoever reaches out to the customer that WANTS these items, make the sale.

    BUT
, I don't think it's gonna be very scalable and sustainable.

No matter what, if you are planning on creating and running a business to make bigger money, then the creative route is better.

Add more value by creating your own products - that should be the way to business nowadays rather than being in the competition.

that's very unfortunate, as PLRs can be very lucrative. Utilizing PLRs have made it possible for me to go from <$300 per month to $1,000+ per month. and its been building up from then on. I would recommend using PLR to anyone.

Maybe you can elaborate how you implemented PLRs. how much time did you devote to it? what methods did you use that didn't work?

I am also a beginner at this area. But I think you can ste up sites with these PLR articles, and then attract traffic. Once you have gained huge traffic, then it is obvious that you will have a change to make big fortunes with your sites.

Yes, you can make money with PLR.

If you buy a PLR ebook make it yours by changing a few bits and writing your own intro. You might think it won't be effective because 100s of people have the license but most won't do anything with it.

Not a fan of PLR articles though. I think it is better to get original ones written.
