I just created a product, this thing has everything, the problem is that it is 1.5gb.

Is that too big for most people to download, and I think it would take forever on a slow connection.

Is there anyway I could shrink this down, or should I just host the videos on my server and protect them with with a membership site script.

Or do you think I could break them up into smaller files and put them on a download page, so they can download it little by little.

Any advice?

Is it one large video? I would suggest breaking them into smaller sessions - that will also make the buy more enticed to buy (16 videos vs 1 video)

Like WebTrafficFrenzy said, try breaking it into smaller parts using something like winrar and then uplad it, then download will be easier. It will also compel the user to download the video. Good Luck

believe me there are more than just one video. I will try winrar and see how much it shrinks, because zipping it up didn't really do much.

Wasn't sure if there was one or not. Just making a point - easier (and more marketable) to have lots of small videos than one large one.

What format do you have it it? Length?

It really depends on the program. 1.5gb isn't that big for a proper video course. If it's just slides with a voiceover it should be smaller but if it's real footage then that size is fine.

Cutting it into smaller bits will help a lot though. Also realize that each sale = 1.5gb of bandwidth on your server.

Just making sure you don't have a 4 hour long video in 1080p for users to view online rather than download - either really. (exaggeration, but you get the point)
