Do you use/like wordpress multiuser?

I wanted to have a discussion about the new wp multiuser feature. Do you use the new wordpress 3.0 multiuser feature?

Do you like it?

What do you dislike about it?

Advantages/disadvantages?
#multiuser #use or like #wordpress

I don't use it yet but I am testing it and experimenting with the new features.

Together with the domain mapping plugin I think it can be a very valuable IM tool: being able to manage all your blogs (mapped to different domains) from one central place as the super admin.

Although even just having multiple blogs on subdomains of your main site/blog and using them as traffic generation tools to funnel visitors to your main site... is much easier to accomplish.

Also, the possibility to create custom single post templates opens up totally new ways to design unique posts.

The custom menu creation option is also something that has been awaited for a long time.

It needs some time to learn all the little tricks to use all its features - but I think it's worth the effort.

I'am playing around with the Multi-user feature of wordpress 3, but I have not gotten past the sub-domain wildcard issue. When the site creates an account, the server is not resolving the sub-domain name.

I have a blog and a forum. The next step is to create a social network for people with similar interest. So I'am playing around with wordpress 3 mu to see if its going to work. I have it setup on a spare domain that I'am not doing too much with.

    Kev,

On a site where I have cPanel I just created a subdomain called * - and the subdomain thingy worked, with the corresponding changes in the config file and htaccess file.
