Regular Sales Page / Video Sales Page / Both? What d'u think...
I'm gonna launch a product in a few weeks and I'm wondering which way is gonna sell the best. Using an old school regular sales letter, that we still see and they do seem to work well since all the new big monthly launches on clickbank use them, so it seems to work. I was thinking of putting a video on top, which would certainly increase conversions. Or simply using a single video that acts as the sales letter, but that last longer?
I'm a little confused. Cause all 3 models since to work very well. Let me explain.
When Commission Payload was launched, it sold very well. Yet it didn't have any video on it, you can check it out on their website (I can't post link yet sorry). And it sold for a good price, $497.
When Clickbank Wealth Formula was launched, it sold very well too lol. I'm not gonna speak about the quality of the product, that's another debate for another time. But the sales process was just brilliant IMO. And again, it was an old school sales letter with a big proof video on top. Was a crazy launch.
So did most launches by Saj P, remember his Affiliate Funnel System about a year ago? No sales video, yet it sold like crazy. It was in a way an "old school sales letter".
Also, one marketer I like is Jason Fladlien, and although he does videos for some of his launches, most of his sales pages are just text.
Ryan Deiss says that old school sales letter are GONE. Well I think he did that for his sales pitch, but is it really? He is incredibly successful and yet seems to only be using a video to sell all his $197 products. It's not that I don't wanna evolve and simply make a big sales video, but I got so many things to say, for example, to tell my story, what's contained in my system, all the modules, etc. I know you can say it all in a video, but I prefer the design of a regular sales page. Look at niche blueprint, for example. I like this design. It features a video on top, and has a nice regular sales letter that is jaw drapping.
Do you think this would convert more than simply using a video as your whole sales page?
At the same time we see Andy Jenkins with his Video Boss, Frank Kern with his List Control, and John Reese with his Outsource Force, who made huge launches by harnessing the power of the video, focusing on it, and making the rest of the sales letter very short, just to add as a recap. This has been proven to work and yet it's contrary to what a lot of other big launches (Saj P's and Alex Goad's way) did.
Now obviously I know what you're gonna tell me. There's a difference between old school sales letter that are 20 pages long and just sales letter that don't have videos on them but an incredible amount of proof, an incredible offer, and an eye grabbing headline. So of course there's a big difference between them, but the thing is, they both don't use videos. And my question is does using videos make a huge difference?
So what do you think? Should I come back to old school proven to work marketing principles and copy the successful copywriters of the mid 20th century, or harness the power of video since internet allows me to do it?
Should I forget writing a sales letter and simply make a 20 minutes long video, just like Automated Sales Formula did?

But in the end, the only one I have in the back on my mind, is...
With 100 visitors that visit my website, which model would convert the best to have the most people who buy?
Also, most big launches I see don't even use an optin page, and lead you straight to the sales page. Is that a good thing? Or can you increase significantly your chances of having someone becoming a buyer by making him optin first? Knowing that the purpose is to make him buy asap.
