Questions about domain names and keywords.

Ok just wondering.
If I am trying to hit keywords on Georgia Travel, but georgiatravel.com is taken is it better to take:
thegeorgiatravel.com or some other stop word that google ignores or....
georgiatravelonline.com

Which one of these would hit harder or does it even matter?

      Georgiastatetravel or something similar maybe?

Would having the word 'online' in the domain really help you?

Was just checking because on one hand you have "thegeorgiatravel.com" and google ignores "the" in domains so it's like having georgiatravel.com but it doesnt sound right when you read it from a human level. "georgiatravelonline" or "georgiastatetravel" could work but is that extra word thrown in there hindering your ranking?

I usually don't get so technical or picky but just wanted to see if there was actually a difference. Personally I would think that google would still pick out the main keywords in the domain name and if you had an extra word in there it wouldnt really hurt it, but Google is a lil sneaky rat

TravelGeorgia.com? Keep brainstorming and keep in mind that keywords with a .com on the end will rank #1 in google FAST.

I'm not actually trying to do anything with georgia travel.com hehe was just an example---georgia travel is pretty broad....I know narrowing it down would be the hotspot but this is just an example....I been to georgia...bunch o trees. Basically I just want to see if you guys would have a preference and what you think would have more google juice.

If I searched for "google travel"
    which site would be better:
    thegeorgiatravel.com
    georgiatravelreview.com
    georgia_travel.com

the above example could be replaced with ehhh... dog shampoo
    thedogshampoo.com
    dogshampooreview.com
    dog_shampoo.com

one example you have a stop word "the" that google ignores anyhow, the next one you add an extra word to your domain which not sure if it hurts on original search but would help if you included review on your search, last one uses the interwebs replace a space with an underscore. So which is better?

just tryin to get down to nitty gritty.

If you have a medium size budget ($1000-$5000) Shop the domain aftermarket and get the BEST one you can. Do not short change yourself when it comes to the domain because the domain name itself can be 50% of your SEO

I'm going to disagree with this, even though it is well spread info. I've also seen georgiaandtravel.com because Google ignores the 'and.'

But in my testing this is not true.

If the key phrase is at the BEGINNING of the domain name you will have an advantage. Any known word at the end of georgia travel will work.

Then just have most of your backlinks as Georgia Travel.

I know I'm going to get it for this opinion, but in my tests this is the way it is. So I have changed my strategy for domain names and it has helped my SEO (I'm an SEO guy).

Very interesting, I m just trying to get down to the bottom of a bottomless well and my well is constantly getting water thrown in. very much appreciate your view on domain name structure and would love to know if other people have views on this.

so main keywords first in line and other words in view so I guess you would approve of "georgiatravelreview.com" for a search term "georgia travel" because review comes at the end.

I know content is key with inter and back linking but this is strictly domain strength questions and how much it can impact your traffic.
