Autoresponder that supports API's + sending broadcast to multiple lists.

I just discovered major show stopper with Mailchimp as it does not allow sending broadcasts to multiple lists.
Aweber does support it but it does not have proper API and it's support has been lately unpleasing.

Any other solid autoresponder alternatives that has flexible APIs + ability to broadcast to multiple lists?

iContact, I believe supports everything you're looking for. They have an API, albeit from what I remember, a bit limited. Does most of everything though.

try getting a self hosted solution like interspire email marketer or autoresponse plus. Before i get whipped about deliverability and spam complaints, let me clarify by saying: Do NOT send mails from your domain directly through your own email server. You can use dedicated services like "sendgrid" to send your mails. This should take care of the deliverability problems.

Having a self hosted solutions, especially one that you can have a programmer modify to your needs will be leaps and bounds above what you can get from other providers, especially if you implement tagging and custom segmenting. You can make multiple times the income than without custom segmentation. BY custom segmentation, i mean something like, send an offer only to those who have opened your last 3 mailings AND have downloaded a particular report and so on. The possibilities are endless.

As for spam complaints, make sure you mention clearly why they were subscribed to the list at the bottom. And do double optins if possible.

Sendgrid sounds cool but it's too geeky for my needs. It requires full time employee just to babysit the whole thing between self hosted solution and grid. It certainly doesn't seem to save any money.
Plus it's not clear who's IP will be blacklisted if rogue customers decide to engage into spam complaining spree?
But looks like an interesting read nevertheless.

The iContact API allows for all kinds of segmentation. In the last project I used it for every subscriber was tagged with exactly what they had purchased from a number of different products and offers allowing me to find the exact segment I wanted to target for all future offers.

        Hi Andy,
is it possible to include custom fields for every customer (optin)?
I want to add these dynamically:
        - customer_ip
        - referrer_domain
        - referrer_url
        - signup_date_time

I will populate these values dynamically via PHP within signup form, but want autoresponder to support ability to add custom fields for every customer.

Yes, you can have as many custom fields with whatever data you like. I've used it extensively to say yes/no on what offers they took but you could put whatever data you wanted in there.

This is excellent as I built my custom conversion analytics system that tracks where conversions are comiing from and what buying customer were actually searching for. Conversion of course will include optins.

            I'll look into these guys.
            Thanks!

You're welcome. PM me if you want the iContact API wrapper. I've open sourced it so you are more than welcome to it and it'll probably save you a few head banging hours as the docs are a bit naff.

              Cheers,

              Andy

I've used iContact, they have an excellent API that can do nearly everything you can do through the main interface.

I've also written a wrapper for it in PHP, if you'd like the code just send me a PM.

    Cheers,

    Andy
