subdomains as squeeze page

Is it ok if I use a sub domain for a squeeze page that's in a related niche?

Anyone do this? Plus I wouldn't have to pay for another one.

Any downsides to this?

I would guess that most use a sub-domain for a squeeze page. I know I do.
No problems and you can use bit.ly or something if you want a short URL.

I think it's OK to use any type of urls with squeeze pages, the only time you need to worry about the urls is when u require the visitor to remember it like when doing youtube video promotion and you tell them to visit your site in the video
