Please help regarding Thankyou Page

Hi..

I have finished my sales pitch. I planned to sell my product in paydotcom. While registering my product, there is provision for thankyou page in which customers will get the product link or product. My question is how I have to setup thankyou page. How i have to deliver my product to the customers? How to maximize the safety for my product from the illegal downloads? Please give your advise on this.

There is nothing special about its design.

Most people have the same template as for the sales page (especially if it has custom graphics => brand building!) and they just delete the sales pitch and replace it with the download link and the necessary instructions. That's it.

Well, the free way (if you don't want to use additional software) is to just host the actual content in randomly named directories like example d com / 4543254545 / 545758575 / thankyou.html

You need to do two things to protect your material from prying eyes:
    1) Log in to your hosting account and change the permissions on the randomly named directories so that the public cannot read them; you should be able to do this in "File Manager".
    2) Change your robots.txt file so that spiders do not snipe your hidden page. You can do this through whatever builder you are using or by updating the robots.txt file with something like this:
    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /4543254545/

Congrats on getting your product up!
Feel free to hit me up on Twitter @RobertZuma if you need additional clarification.

If you use a wide-open Thank You page with a "random" file name, you should most certainly NOT block access to it using a robots.txt file.

Anybody can read your robots.txt file and it will lead them right to your secret page.

If you're using the "security by obscurity" method, put this code in the header of your secret page to ask search engines not to index the page:

      HTML Code:
      <meta name="robots" content="noindex">
Unfortunately, that still doesn't stop people from sharing the URL of your download page.

Good call Ryan. By using robots.txt to do the same thing, I just disallow the first directory, people would still have to figure out the subdirectories to find the secret page.

That said, I think your method is better. Thanks for the post!

Just to add to the helpful comments you've already received.

Make sure your thankyou / download page has a link to the software folks will need to open your download file.

e.g. if its a .zip file include a link to winzip or 7zip. If its a .pdf file ensure there's a link to Adobe Reader. The vast majority of folks probably have all this stuff on their hard drive but ...

... good customer service and a seamless download experience will be remembered for its professionalism and encourages good vibes with your customers.

Also include a contactable email address that you check regularly so your customers have a way of contacting you if they encounter any problems, just want to say hi or even offer you a review /testimonial.

There's other stuff you can do like include banners embedded with your affiliate links to other products relevant to yours. Never underestimate the potential for 'backend profits' on your download / thankyou page.

    Hope this helps.

    Garry.

P.S. Consider an email opt-in to grow your customer list. Promise them lifetime free updates to your product if they subscribe, or maybe try tempting them with a special free bonus report or even a mind map of your product. Just something of extra value that gets that all important email opt-in.
