How do you keep Organized?

Hi Warriors!

I would like to know how you keep organized.

I'm having small problems regarding keeping organized and am curious how Warriors keep up with workload and other things like life.

I was used to writing things down on paper but I find it tiresome and taking too long since I can type faster than write. I moved on too Windows 7 sticky notes feature but now its to in the way and feels too temporary.

Let me know Warriors!

Thanks,

Aljiro

    1) Set hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly Goals
    2) Buy a Timer (Stop watch)
    3) Set hourly goals with a timer, and make sure to pause it once you get out of the chair, or open a new window on your screen which is irrelevant or a distraction to your original targeted tasks
    4) Check your email only twice a day
    5) Set daily goals which requires minimum 120 minutes of productive time investment
    6) Do not spend more than 30 mins on social networking sites for the purpose of only socializing..

Conclusion: Timer is a solution to achieve targets as per your goal settings, and to make you calculate your productive minutes.

Gurus advise that 4 hours of focused, productive & concentrated efforts can fetch you enough rewards on internet marketing than any other platform.

To be honest I still use a pen and paper approach. The only difference would be that I have a set day to day diary where I list down every task that needs to be done for that day (usually in order).

I create the list before I sleep the night before so that its ready to be used the next day. Organisation can be a very personal affair but I find there is nothing like the feeling of physically writing down my to do list for the day or plan of action. The fact that its hard coded in paper means it feels more 'real' to me.

That being said you should find a system that works for you, one persons heaven can be anothers hell. Find what you feel comfortable using then move on to actually doing the task itself. If in doubt use the simple KISS[Keep It Simple Stupid] philosophy that always seems to help me.

    Best of luck!

Spreadsheets are great for keeping your data organised. Use them for:

      • Bookkeeping
      • Keeping track of domain expiry dates
      • Planning small projects
      • Keep track of suppliers and customers
      • Niche Ideas
      • And much more....
You can use MS Excel, but I use the free OpenOffice suite which comes with Calc, which is plenty good enough for what I need.

The process of creating a spreadsheet for something can help you organise it in your mind too.

I read Brian Tracy's "eat that frog" for a bit of inspiration on this subject. I couldn't seem to get organized either. Everything was written down on post its and paper that I would put up on the wall. My advice would be create a daily activities sheet. or maybe you have outlook and set goals the prior day. that way for the day you are in, you can just follow the blocked set of time you place on each action. "Eat that frog" also mentions things about leveraging your time. High leverage action compared to low leverage action.

    Ok hope this helps,

Good luck, because I totally get it!!
