My New Digital Frame, or... How to Get a TON of New Readers For Your Blog (Maybe)

The other day I received one of those digital picture frames as a gift, and I gotta tell you... this thing is pretty neat.

I was comparing it with my first PC (circa 1987) and it's kind of crazy how much technology has advanced. It trips me out to think that my PICTURE FRAME has more processing power than my desktop PC had!

My Leading Edge PC had a monochrome monitor (amber), 30MB hard drive (a huge amount for that time!), 640KB memory, and of course no Internet connectivity. Price: $1,750.

This frame has an 800x600 screen with millions of colors, 1GB of memory, and Wi-Fi built in. Price: $50.

Now you're wondering about how this relates to getting tons of visitors to your blog... bear with me here...

One of the neat features of this frame is you can use a free online service called FrameChannel.com to send content directly to the frame, which receives it using a wireless Internet connection via a router. You log into FrameChannel, choose all the content you would like to see (weather, photos, news, cartoons, and so on). Then they just show up on the frame. Computer magic!

Another thing you can send to the frame are RSS feeds. And if you go to FrameChannel.com and click on the "Our content & partners" tab at the bottom, you'll get another link right above the tab where you can submit your own content for consideration as one of their "channels".

Here's the direct link for you lazybones:

Now, obviously they don't accept everyone and you would have to have the right kind of content for them to consider your blog. I assume you'd also have to have some kind of track record and not a blog with two posts. But maybe someone can make use of this promotion avenue and generate a whole bunch of new visitors to their site.
