Is It Wrong To Have This Mentality?

I have always felt as though failure is not an option ever since I started my home business over six years ago. Failure to me would mean swallowing my pride, abandoning my principals and admitting defeat aka going out and getting a “real.” 9-5 job which at this point would feel like selling myself into slavery. I often feel arrogant and somewhat pompous for feeling this way. So many other people I know work 9-5 jobs and don’t really think of them as a loss of their freedom as honestly they don’t know any better. I have worked for others in the past, and felt as though it wasn’t meant to be. The experiences were not positive and it was as though something inside of me was saying that I was meant to be self employed or at least be the person giving the orders as opposed to being ordered around.

My question is this is this sort of mentality the right one to have in this industry?

I'm not exactly sure what to say but my elder brother has the same attitude as yours and though it was pretty helpful at some points, he really fell down and saw some bad times of his life because of it...

All depends on you, and your personality, my friend.

If you have what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur, then yes, that's a good mentality to have. Actually, somewhat the only mentality to have. If you don't have what it takes though, then as mentioned above, you're probably going to fall, and fall hard.

Man, my heart nearly exploded. F*&K 9-5! F&^K what people think of you! Do what makes you happy, and you're right failure isn't an option, after all, failure is a concept designed to make you stop following your dreams!

Please excuse my deleted expletives :-D

But yeah, PSSHHH, forget slavery, I feel you man, keep pushing, you're never failing, only learning and growing, why do you think people live a sucker lifestyle? They GIVE UP on their dreams, don't be one of them :-D

It is a great thing to first get practical knowledge on what you want to do in life. One needs to be financially independent. So it depends on what one wants to do, whether to run a business or to be employed. Some enjoy being employed. But if you want to be your own boss, you must have a strong will to succeed. For this to happen, you need to be ready for it in all aspects. It is a good mentality never to surrender to failure and do what it takes to be successful.

I think it's a 'free spirit' thing. I want to live my life on my terms.

There's nothing wrong with that. The grass is always greener on the other side though.

      Being the boss sucks.

But it's the price you pay.

I guess this isnt applicable to all situations, Like maybe what you have to learn is the ability of flexibility, being able to adapt to all sorts of given situations.

No, it's not. The right mindset is to do whatever you have to do to achieve your goal of financial independence. If that means getting a job temporarily, then that's what you should do. Other than abandoning your principles, be willing to do whatever it takes to get to where you want to go.
