as i understand it, spun articles, are used primarily by article submission companies and unique versions are sent to many directories. my question is, can spun articles be used on several pages of one website?

ie:jimxxxxx.com / lewes-homes
ie:jimxxxxx.com / lewes-homes-for-sale
ie:jimxxxxx.com / lewes-real-estate
ie:jimxxxxx.com / lewes-real-estate-for-sale

thanks, newbie jim : )

    I don't see why not.

The only problem is it might make you site look silly to human readers, so perhaps this is only a good strategy for MFA (made for adsense) sites where your aim is to get the user to click an adsense link rather than read. You can achieve that by placing the adsense near the top-left or top-central location and have it take up most of the 'above the fold' space.

that is the response i was hoping for.

i do not think most visitors to realtor sites are there for a realtors seo text. i feel most are there for the mls search. i have 4 main pages that i will be directing visitors to my home pages to, the remaining many pages are to rank for a variety of key word phrases that have some amount of exact monthly local search numbers in google keyword tool. thank you, jim

If you do the job properly, nobody will detect that you've 'spun' your content, let alone
Google. I have several websites with spun content, and they rank and convert just as
well as any other site I own.

Jim Kelly was a great quarterback.

But I agree, I use tons of spun articles and have good success. Shouldn't make a difference.

Jim, for what you are trying to do, there is no way that I would use Spun Versions on YOUR SITE.

GOOD ORIGINAL on your site -----> Spun versions on other sites

The kind of site you are making, and the BRAND that you are trying to establish will be completely wasted using Spun content on YOUR OWN SITE.

The content on your site should be written and presented in a way that it is going to BRAND you and make you stand head and above your competitors...I'm not saying that you can't do that with spun content, but I am saying that it doesn't make any sense to try.

I wouldn't make plans on so few opinions. You need to look at what people are
doing, and not opinions. I've been spinning content for years now, and have a
lot of success with it. This is not opinion, but a cold hard fact. I have number one
spots on Google for several keywords, using only spun articles. Using techniques
that I've developed over the years, I own several keywords. I have most of the
top 25 spots for them. Without spun content, this would have been impossible.

Before the Nay Sayers chip in, my articles all provide valuable content, I don't
            publish any old crap.

I spin as much content as the next guy, but why would or should a real estate agent spin the content that he is using for his main website?

THERE IS NO REASON TO DO IT....PERIOD.

At the most his site will more than likely have 8-9 pages tops, and in all reality there isn't a reason to submit content anywhere else for this kind of site...So, spinning should in my opinion be nowhere in the equation.

Ultimately, Jim is going to make the decision, but as someone who does more than my share of work for real estate agents...spun content on the main branding site is a non-starter.

obviously there are two avenues of thought on this topics but i think the key is spun articles on-site can work if (done-right), is the key. because, as a newbie to all of this, i have no idea what done-right means, thus i have no choice but to go with all unique articles for my site. you guys have been great and i thank you! jim

OK, well then I guess I will weigh in as a vote for spun articles.

And, I'll go one further and say that for what you are doing you might want to look at the data merge feature of The Best Spinner where you could further "uniqify" your articles.

Depending on the plan for your site, I'm thinking you could also have pages like:

    lewes-ranch-homes-for-sale
    lewes-trilevel-homes-for-sale

And use the data merge to add in different stuff about those types of homes. If those are even keywords that you would use?

I agree with Jeremy on this one.

One thing people forget, or are just too lazy to think about is that EVERYTHING that you do on your site is about providing your customers with a good experience. Look at it from what they will see.

You can build your reputation by providing them with a huge resource of information, or destroy your reputation by filling it with the exact same information, showing that you don't know enough to help them.

SEO is important but you can write for your readers, and provide them with valuable information without repeating yourself, yet still optimize for search and get the rankings.

If you don't know enough about your niche to write more than a few articles, then you need to do some research or hire someone to write it for you. ( both would be preferable, if you want to go for some social interaction, which is a factor that will determine your seo rankings, possibly more so than the number of backlinks, in the near future).

I have one affiliate site with over 100 articles, targeting several very similar keywords and every single page is totally unique information to any other page on the site. I see other people in the same niche doing what is suggested above (filling their site with spun content) and although they make some sales, they dont have nearly the following that you can have by building up authority with unique content.

Now, that being said, spin the content with a real spinner. always make sure that it reads naturally (never just spin and post without reading it all the way through), and syndicate your content to target a variety of related keywords. If you spin and still use high quality spins, you will get more traffic through the content than you do through search anyway. and it is easier to create hundreds of articles without starting from scratch for every single one. Spinning is great for syndication but never for your own site. Although you can make it work, you will not brand yourself as an authority. you will fight and struggle for one time sales instead of building credibility and a relationship with people.

To end this monolog I will leave you with a quote from my biggest mentor in business and in life, My grandfather.

He said "We make profit off of the people who come in and buy something. We make a living off of those who come back repeatedly, and refer others to our business."

Also remember, every person who sees your site is customer, whether they buy from you or not. They may not buy today, but they could spend a fortune on you tomorrow, or next month. Treat them as if they are the reason that you are in business. When it comes down to it, they are.
