Google Keyword research question

Hi guys,
Currently I am doing some keyword research in a market I want to get in to. I found a great keyword that I can optimize for - at least I think. The global monthly searches for this phrase is 4,090,000 and the local monthly searches are 1,500,000. The competition is relatively low.

I think this is a good market opportunity, but the numbers seem high. Am I missing something here?

thanks

The Google keyword research tool is infamous for being grossly inaccurate. Often times they can overstate the amount of search volume by 10x or more.

What I would suggest is that you look for any articles that are ranking for that keyword, and see how many views any of those articles have generated. By doing this, you can get a feel for how much potential traffic you can get for that keyword.

Also make sure that you use the [exact match] feature in the keyword tool. Otherwise, I have found the data is not even close to being accurate.

    Just my opinion of course

How does the "broad" keyword type work? Suppose we use the phrase Pitt bull training. Under the broad type, will the ad show if only the word "bull" is in the keyphrase or do all of them have to be included somewhere?

i think its a great marketing opportunity! people make some good money with even less searches. its all about selling the right product and advertising it correctly. but with relatively low searches, if u want to make some serious money, u will probably need to get really high on search engines!
