    Tamiro,

    Do you have a blog?

....I would highly recommend the subtle use of a "resources" page filled with affiliate links. I wouldn't make them just any affiliate links, though, but rather products and services that you have purchased and used personally. Disclose this fact to your readers, as well as the fact that you have purchase the product/pay recurring payments each month for services. Guide your blog by transparency, and, DON'T try to just sell to your readers all the time. Provide a tremendous amount of value, gain their respect and credibility, and they will trust you and buy from you.

no i dont have a blog its why i asked, i was thinking of making one and i wanted to see how good it can be. from my understanding, a big part of having a blog is proving some kind of information to people! it seems as if people who have blogs dont even think about the money. is that really true? they make blog just to share something?

I run a couple of blogs. On them i have affiliate ads in the sidebar. had someone email me recently wanting to give me this great deal of a whole $5/month to let him but an affiliate banner on my blog. he didnt even own the product it was an affiliate banner with an unmasked hoplinck from clickbank.

I guess he didnt look to see that I already had affiliate ads of my own. why get $5 bucks when i can get more by getting the banner myself?

I personally rarely actually do any reviews or in post promotions. i simply talk to my readers about the topic, with 3-4 affiliate banners in the sidebar. i dont use adsense either. just affiliate banners, and an opt in at the end of every post to build up my list.

ye affiliate offers are much better for blog, than adsense. If you get decent traffic, affiliate offers can earn you way more. You don't need to promote $47 ebook or guide. There are guides/products out there up to $2500, paying you 50% or so.

tamiro1992 best idea is to choose something that you know about. unlike a static site, a blog is bout building a community, and less bout selling. the sales will come but get people coming, and focus on engaging them in a conversation rather than just posting articles. people will be more likely to share your content with others, and build up your traffic. also, get known in the blogging community. start guest posting on related blogs, and commenting on popular blogs in your niche. join their community, and people will come to join yours.

I have a blog that all the promtion for it is done by 1 commenting on 5-6 related blogs inthe niche, 2 getting guest posts on those blogs, and 3 linking in signature file in related forums.

I dont do any article marketing, or seo, for that one blog, and I get about 3k monthly visitors, and it makes me a little money every month.. honestly I could make more from it if I spent more time on promotion, but its more of one that I do for fun rather than to make money. The money I make from it is just an added bonus.

You can make good affiliate commissions from setting up blogs that provide product reviews.

Check out my sig link for an example.

As you can see I have spent a fair bit of time providing an in depth review of the product with videos, screenshots, case studies etc.

It is important to have actually used the product you are reviewing as this comes across in the posts.

    I used a few simple SEO techniques to get the blog onto the first page in Google;

--Include the product keywords in the title of each post and at a density of around 2% in the body of the posts.

--create videos and distribute them using heyspread.com (the keywords should be in the video titles)

--submit the posts and videos to the social bookmarking site Digg.com

All pretty straight forward stuff but it works!

You could also make money through donations, promoting products that you are an affiliate of and selling your own products.

50 dollars, and then sell it? the blog wont really worth that much would it? i dont know what could people pay for a blog that made 50 bucks lol. did he mean 50 bucks a week or month or just like 50 bucks? i just dont see any value in a blog like that yet

Right, if it makes $50 a week or even $50 per month, it will have value. If it starts to make money it can show potential down the road.

lets say the blog makes 50 bucks a month, in your oppinion, whats the value of the blog?
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[2381363].message }}

    Well, there are many factors...

How much traffic? How is it being promoted? Are there a lot of backlinks... Where is the traffic coming from? How is it ranking for its main keywords? How about competition? What niche are you in? etc...

There are many things to consider in determining a price. But, the thing to remember is, if your blog can make some money and get traffic, it does have value. You might be able to grow it into something that is a lot of value.

You need to remember that blog is social media platform like any other social networking site. The only difference is that you own it. So, you do not use your blog to make money. You use the blog to persuade people and engage. Then you use it to get them sign up in your list, and this is where the read money is coming from.

    I hope it helps,

      EXACTLY!

Use it to form relationships....and, honestly, I'd put the idea of monetizing out of my head, at least initially. Build up the trust and credibility, with quality valuable information, that will keep people coming back for more....

You can create your blog using blogger.com. Then monetize it with Google adsense, amazon.com links, and promote affiliate marketing programs (use banners or the affiliate links). By so doing, you will make money.

    Hey There,

Making money from your blog, is something that many people overlook.

Adsense and Adbrite, are just selling your ad spots, when in fact you could sell them directly to the advertiser.

What I mean is, have you noticed all the niche targeted adsense ads on your blog, what if you talked to those advertisers and they paid you.

You would remove the middle-man. There's a few other ways to make money, but thats just one.

Most other ways, whether it be affiliate, or CPA, you really need to drive traffic to do.

Some earn thousand a month, JUST from their resource page.

Gain trust and develop loyalty with your content, and subtly and traparently provide a 'resource' page with affiliate links (that you have, in fact, purchased and recommend yourself)

Great money can be made by forming relationships and gaining trusts, however, it also takes time and patience. Most people cut corners because they want to monetize their blog immediately....You will drive people away if you constantly 'sell' to them...

No offence to the thread replier here, but these sort of posts annoy the hell out of me! These are the type of posts which make people think "oh, wait I can put a resource page up on a, quick and simple wordpress blog and make thousands...right?" WRONG!

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG =D

Seriously, if you want to make money online, blogging is probably one of the HARDEST ways of doing it.

As we shall come on to in a moment, establishing a brand, a reputation, building up a readership and a list is essential in making money blogging however these are all key techniques which take time, and I mean 1 year if not much more.

Right, although this is true, sure you can sell a product for $2,500 and get a wopping 50% commission. The type of marketing you need to do for this type of affiliate marketing is not for the beginner (not saying you are), nor is it for the less experienced.

This takes some incredibly targeted traffic/massive traffic, it takes a well written, targeted, emotional sales page/landing page/review page, depending on which way you want to take it. And finally, it takes a big HARD push to persuade the potential customers to click through to the sales page.

The chances of making these types of sales on a blog is very unlikely unless your blog is pre-targeted at these types of customers.

Typically a blog can reach anywhere between 6 months and 24 months of monthly revenue, however this is just a general rule of thumb, it obviously depends on the actual blog its self and as someone else mentioned it depends on other factors such as:

Traffic - where does it come from? Paid, search engines, article marketing, other blogs, other websites the blog owner owns....

Content - How much content is already on the site? Is it established blog, has it got a reputation, does it have a big readership

Subscribers - how many subscribers does the blog have? Through aweber, double opted in? Through feedburner, get response...where, have they been sold to, do they get softened up?

      And much more...

Yes, blogging can make you money but its by no means easy. I would definitely say it's one of the hardest ways to make money online and it takes a certain type of person to reach a significant amount of success blogging.

Sorry that it "annoyed the hell out of you". Please, read my last post (before you posted this one).

"oh, wait I can put a resource page up on a, quick and simple wordpress blog and make thousands...right?" WRONG!"

Of course you can't JUST do that, however, I understand that some here may think that. Perry Belcher talked all about social media being a tool by which to establish long term relationship, and develop trust and credibility. Some may not agree with this statement, but I'd go even further to say that one shouldn't actively try to make money from their blog for at 6 months. You want your audience to feel (and know) that it's not JUST all about the money.

In fact, in terms of quality and quantity content, typically, the value you provide will have to be tremendous before your readership really get to know you, your intentions, and before you actually make money from your blog.

I absolutely love blogging because it's so diverse. You can literally combine all the aspects of Internet Marketing into a blog.

    On a blog, you can:

    Earn revenue from ads
    Promote affiliate products
    Promote your own products
    Build a list

Blogging is one of the most diverse tools an Internet Marketer has. There are so many options to make money from.

    Yes.

If you want money, other people have to give it to you.

And to give it to you, they need to know how.

And to know how, they need to be told.

So you have to tell them.

    And that's an ad.

    So, yes.
