social media marketing

Hello all,
I've been struggling with driving traffic, and doing all the traditional things like SEO and also article marketing, which I believe has some value but is not the same traffic generation machine as it was a few years ago.
Social media is still exploding, and in my opinion is where I should be focusing the bulk of my marketing effrots right now. The problem is, I can't find any decent, AFFORDABLE training that can accelerate the learning curve.
There is sooooo much to learn.
Has anyone had any luck with social media marketing, and if so can you suggest any good training resources? Or is it something I must learn on my own? That could take forever, literally...
Thank you!

Ted

You can learn it on your own, or with a good WSO. Look up Sandi Krakowski and "friend" her on Facebook. She seems to know what she's doing. She's even entertaining. But I can tell she works really hard at it. She's posting ALL the time. LOL

    Hi Ted,

There's a free video course by Alex Jeffreys called "TweetingWithYou" (not an aff link)

I can't personally recommend it as I haven't got round to watching it myself yet but i've heard good things about it.

    Best wishes,

I don't know if you're using WordPress, but there are several plugins that you can use that makes the whole process of SM very easy.

    Hi Ted,

Allan Fletcher has written a really good guide for getting a lot of traffic using social plattforms like digg, myspace, friendfeed, ning etc. I have just wrote a short review on my automated marketing blog. It costs now less then 10 bucks and is a detailed step-by-step tuturial, that is easy to follow.
I read a lot of these guides, as I am one that loves to learn things by myself. But most of them are causing a big information overload, so they are simple just good for reference but not for practice.
Allan's tutorial is not absolutely new, but it is still up to date and it works actually now. So if you haven't read it yet, look out for "backlink flood".

    Hi Ted,

What are you struggling with the most with Social Media?

    What do you consider affordable?

There are a lot of expensive courses out there.

I currently have a WSO running with over 20 hours of training which was a 12 week course I recorded live. Each module is 1 - 2 hours.

I am also adding 2 bonus modules from other presentations I am doing currently on Facebook to add what I already covered in the course.

The outline of what the course covers is in the WSO and is pretty comprehensive.

I was in your position where I needed affordable, reliable training on social media and other marketing methods. You can go to jonathanbudd(dot) com and he is a master in internet marketing. You can get the fr.ee training. Also, I came across a website that offers fr.ee training on marketing. Hope that helps!
