I am a 19 years old, college. I have been in internet marketing world. But i have some question about this world. Is internet marketing a good job? Can i live as a internet marketer? Should i have my own product or just sell affiliate product? Or internet marketing is just a side job, to get passive income?
what is the best, still concentrate in internet marketing or just leave it to get real job?

thanks for all advice...

There is no doubt that Internet Marketing can be a career where many are earning a full time income.

Don't expect to jump in and start cashing huge pay checks right away though. If i've learned one thing as an Internet Marketer it's that it takes time to find success on the Internet.

There's a lot of different ways to go about Internet Marketing you just have to find what suits you the best. Promoting your own product, affiliate product, blogging, etc.

If you're looking to Internet Marketing as a new job I would definitely go for it, BUT remember it will take time before you start earning really start earning real money so I would recommend you keep your real job for now...

And I completely agree with MeghanK. I'm a current student and I do I'm in my free time. Very important to balance both.

Is offering to do odd jobs for cash a side job to get passive income or a real job? Or the begining of a business?

#1) You can make a living at anything... it's up to you how far you want to go with it.

#2) Is self employment "Business Ownership" or is it just a "JOB"?

Many Warriors have built substantial businesses through internet marketing... "I Mean Really Substantial" beyond what most people could ever dream of making at a "JOB" .

IMHO there is no definitive answer to this question... You have to ask yourself, "What do I want this to be?"

Passionately grow your business and it can become substantial, sit on your butt and you may pick up a little extra cash.

As others have said, it's what you make of it. It's definitely got the potential to be a full time income though.

I'm a student as well, and i've literally just started, but i'm already up to $500/month, with PLENTY of room to grow.

For me, I see it as a career, and accordingly I treat it as one.

For a while, It was cash on the side, and that worked as well.

So really, it's up to you, how far do you want to go, and how much time do you want to commit?

Don't worry though, the sky is definitely the limit.

    Zul

I suggest you do internet marketing as a part time job. Concentrate on studies first. Once you complete your studies, then you can decide on which is best for you. Internet marketing is quite easy if you are skilled, you dont need to do it full time

If you treat IM as a "job" you probably won't make that much money. If you treat it as a business, you can make a hell of a lot of money.

I may be slightly biased as I'm a recent graduate, but I'd recommend finishing your full-time education whilst doing IM part-time. When you complete your studies you can decide where to go from there. I took a leap of faith and went it alone and I certainly don't regret it. I made more in a my first month of "freedom" than most of my friends will make in 3 years in their "job".

      Hi,

Like the others said before im can be a real full-time job. But back it up with your studies as life is uncertain. I would use IM at moment to fund your studies then take IM more seriously and work at it full-time. You need to work full-time to make good money and make it your main income.

      goodluck with studies and IM

If by a job you mean that there are days when you don't want to do it but you do anyhow, then yes...it can be a job just like any other job with all the same upsides and downsides...and I know that my boss can be a real idiot sometimes too!

Something I told myself back when I was going to College was even if I netted 50-60k a year things could change at the drop of a hat. The internet is a fickle lady one day your sites could be top of the SEs making massive amounts and the next you could have been sandboxed.

My advice always have a backup plan if you are in IM for a full time job. You can cast your net as wide as possible online but you are still vulnerable to massive online changes that happen all of the time!

Sorry to sound pessimistic to my fellow full timers but it's true!

Don't drop out of school to become an IM. Most IM are not who they say they are. They all say that they are making millions of dollars... but anybody can say anything on their own website... and they can use photoshop and other tricks to make you believe that they are raking in big paychecks every month.

If you have a paypal account... and an ebook. Would you be able to buy 20 of your own ebooks for a week.... then take the money out of your paypal account - put it back into your bank account - and then you would have a clickbank receipt that you could use to show that your ebooks are selling like hot cakes. Don't believe everything that you see and hear on the internet.

To be fair a lot of IMers make it a lot more stable by "diversifying their portfolio". They do things like build lists, use several different types of monetization, etc. They move away from just relying on being #1 on google for traffic or adsense as the only monetization.

Also a real life job isn't anymore secure then internet marketing. Some jerk can walk right up to you and say your fired for any reason.

I firmly believe that if you want to exceed, you must treat your hobby of internet marketing like a job to see a financial return for the effort put in. If you treat it like a hobby, that is all it will ever really be.

Two years ago, this was my hobby. Some hard pressed hours doing tedious things I didn't want to do, forcing my ideas into real things, and doing so with a "Job, 9-5" mindset is the difference of a couple hundred thousand dollars. I still love what I do, sometimes I hate it, but the rewards are great and I feel a sense of self achievement everyday in the same way a person would if they built a large home by themselves.

I second with pursuing your studies while doing Internet Marketing on a part-time basis or better off, during your spare time so you could develop focus on what you want to happen in your life and that way, you value time better because you know you'll yield results the more your persist doing it.

    Hi,

just consider IM as a future potential job for you and still focus on your studies. In the meanwhile, take advantage of your free time by doing some IM as a hobbie because the day you'll decide to do full-time internet marketing, you'll have more chances to succeed if it's already your passion.

It's really up to you on how you look at IM, whether it's a job or a business. You can do IM as a job, or can have IM as a business. But whatever it is, you can still do other things like school, other jobs etc..

I suggest to test IM but don't give up the other things you're doing, don't give up yet. Grow your IM business, you can do it part-time while going to school. Once you graduated, time to grow your business. You can still look for another job after you graduated while doing IM, and use the money you will earn from your job to grow your IM business.

Once you grow your business and have a steady income more than enough to support your lifestyle, you have an option to quit your job and grow your IM business even more. But of course, it's really up to you if you want to quit your job and become a full-time internet marketer or not.
