3,000th Post - Reflection, Encouragement and a Thank You

Hi Guys

It's amazing, at least to me, to think that this is the 3,oooth post I have made here at the Warrior Forum. I have been a member here since January 2006 and that time seems to have really flown.

There is no question in my mind that, if I had found this forum sooner, I would certainly have been further down the road by now. I have been marketing seriously for the past 6 years, but the last 4 years here at the forum have been amazing. I have met many fantastic people, I have forged some great working relationships with other Warriors - all my partners have been 'found' here - and I have learned from those further ahead of me as well as trying to help those who are just starting out. Actually, that's something I have come to realise: Internet Marketing seems a bit like playing squash, in that, there are a good number of people who appear to be better at it than me, but there are also a lot of people who are still trying to just hit the ball.

So I guess I have made it to a decent level of proficiency. Actually, I remember when I began to make money - by the way, I made absolutely no money for almost the first year - saying to my wife that I thought with two years-worth of solid effort, I could probably build a full-time income. Well here we are, 6 years after me making that comment, and I still have not managed to do that yet. Don't get me wrong, I am making a steady, passive 5-figure income from my web activities. However, I still work part-time to supplement that income because 6-figures was and still is my goal. That's when I get to give-up my day-job completely.

When my wife sees me working on my site, which I do almost every day, she might comment that I appear to be working very hard for that so-called 'passive income'. But, of course, I am not working for it at all: I am working to create the incremental income that will move me from 5-figures to 6-figures. Yes, this business does require a bit of hard work, but isn't it worth it? Even where I am after 6 years-worth of effort, I have already generated an income that is greater than the projected pension that I have paid into for the best-part of 40 years - that is the astonishing power of the web.

My purpose in letting you know a little about my journey so far, is to encourage those who need it. I occasionally see posts here that ask questions like 'is anybody really making any money' or 'I don't believe you guys' - something like that. And I fully understand the people who posted. As I said, I didn't make a cent for almost 1 year, but you know just toward the end of that first year, somebody clicked on a banner ad on my site and bought a product and I earned $29 commission. Wow! It was the best $29 I have ever made because it demonstrated to me that what I was doing could work. Sure, I needed to get much better at it, but it was that transaction that proved to me that it was doable. I will never forget that feeling.

For the newbies here, I want to say that I have found that there are no golden keys, no magic pills and no secret methods. It may be that you will need to spend a few thousand dollars - like me and some others here - just to prove this truth to yourself. If so, that's ok as long as you eventually learn the lesson. Sure there are people selling systems and tools that can help you. We all need to learn and there is no harm in paying for access to some information that you may need. There is also no harm in buying the tools and paying for the services you need in order to succeed.

But really, this business is very simple: if you find a way to provide value, you can make money. Now I know that sounds simple, and it is when you know where and how you can contribute by creating that value. I don't want you to think I am keeping anything back here: money changes hands when value is delivered. So find out what your target market values and be the provider of it; and, I would just add, do it well - try to be the best you can be and you won't go far wrong.

Well, I guess I have written quite enough for now, but, as is traditional with landmark posts, I would like to end by offering you a gift to celebrate with me. There is no opt-in required and, although there is a way to make money by using this, I would just like you to read this book and think carefully about its message. You can download your completely free copy here ...

Finally, my heartfelt thanks go to everyone here from Allen to the newest of the newbies who all go together to make this place what it is - the very best forum for everything related to Internet Marketing on the web.

May you go on to great things.

Best wishes,

Will 

That's Correct. No Shortcuts, *Hidden* Cheat Codes, None, Zilch, Nada. Sometimes for most people, Experience really is the best teacher.

Your post HIT me like a bomb and I realized I haven't been contributing a lot lately ( guess I'm going to add a "Head to the Warrior Forum and Get Busy" timer to the Action Machine).

    Congratulations on your 3,000th Post!

    Will,

Thanks for taking the time to stop and say thank you and share. I am sure that 6 figure goal is not far away. As my mentor Joe Vitale says when you start being grateful you start attracting the right things into your life.

    Will,

Took the time to read your book and click on your site and go to your sales page for "The Deepest Desire of Your Heart"....

What's your conversion rate like? Do you have many affiliates on CB promoting you? I suggest TESTING your sales page as the one you have right now can be a lot better.

    .best to you

Thanks for reading it - I hope you enjoyed it.

One of the things I know I need to do is to start tracking and testing. The truth is, I cannot properly answer your question on conversion rate. My estimation is that it is around 2% at present based on average sign-ups and sales, but it is only a rough estimate.

When I get properly tracking, I know I will be able to split-test and improve conversions. It's definitely something I will be doing at some stage; it's just not the focus of my current action.

With regard to the number of affiliates promoting our offers it is very low. Almost all of my sales have been generated directly by me. My gravity stats generally are around 4-6 but I think that's because a lot of affiliates buy a single product from me. I have 1 affiliate who regularly promotes and does quite well.

      Best wishes,

      Will
