Best way to change a website to a WP platform?

3 replies
I have a website with 37 articles that I would like to change to a WordPress foundation. My hosting is JustHost with cPanel, etc... It is PHP so a page would look like mydomain/keyword-phrase.php... I don't mind changing one page at a time I just don't even know how to start. JustHost has Fantastico which I understand is the easiest way to download WP but since my site is already built on another platform I need some help.

Step 1 - Turn on computer
Step 2 - ???

    If those are static pages - Copy text, and paste them into wordpress pages.

    If your using a database driven content management system - you might be able to get an import script to convert the database from what your using now, to a wordpress database.

    First of all, Wordpress contains importers for the following systems:

    -> Wordpress
    -> Blogger
    -> Typepad/Movable Type
    -> RSS

    There may be plugins as well for other ones, that you could consider. I don't know the names off-by-heart though.

    What platform are you moving from?
