So far the biggest is still Craigslist.

I believe oodle comes next but I'm not really sure.

    Best,

I use Corkin.com, Craigslist, USFreeAds, Adlandpro, The Free Advertising Forum and Oodle mostly and find varying degrees of success with all of them depending on what it is that I’m offering. I actually tend to be more successful when I drive traffic from those places back to my own free/premium classified sites. Pm me for links if you’re interested.

I don'treally think there is any serious competitor to Craigslist. I can not generate a fraction of the traffic from other sources (even combined) that I can get from a good Craigslist ad. Its like comparing Ebay to all the other auction sites, imo.

I also agree with Craigslist leading the pack. BUT, isn't it time for an upgrade to that site? Some kind of graphic or something geez, give it some color. Amazes me that Craigslist is 100% text, they don't even have a logo do they?

I've used Craigslist with a lot of success, specifically in the sales jobs category. A distant second place for me is backpage.com, also in the sales jobs category.

    Craigs List
Gumtree (is Gumtree owned by Ebay now????)
Freeadvertiser.co.uk (They allow ads in the UK, USA , India etc)
Loot.com (Used to have a national paper, don't know if the still do)

If you are in the UK i still think local ads work best as I have placed many ads online with no one responding, or maybe my stuff is Junk!!!

I agree Craigslist is the best in my opinion but when you link all the content or ads you have together from other sources that can work very well.

I guess I am going to have to try craigslist again as all I ever got from it was spam and some porn.

I'm in Canada, what do other Canadians use and like that's free? I get lots of traffic from kijiji but they are finicky and sometimes delete my ads for no apparent reason. I like backpage.com too. There's another one called nortad I use.

I notice that there are a lot of free classified add sites. Just wondering if someone would not mind publishing there results. Maybe a case study? Or perhaps starting a thread were warriors could put case studies that show the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of free add sites. What types of adds work best which work worse. Maybe even using as a traffic generating method. Could lead to a an ebook.. just a thought

    I recommend Backpage.com, Kijiji.com, ebayclassifieds.com, 123exchanges.com etc. etc.
There is a long list of these free classified websites, you may also search them on internet by google search.

The biggest one is Craigslist, but too much problematic website. needs PVA's, needs too much experience and have strict rules. If you never obey there too much strict rules, you have no live ad.

    Best Regards,

I don't have much success with Free Classified Sites like Craiglist and Backpage. The only classified sites that was able to make me sales was Ebay Classified Ads which cost $10 for 1 month. I would say the $10 spent is definitely worth it as there are tons of traffic on ebay and the people surfing there are buyers who are willing to spend.
