How did you find the Warrior Forum?

I love how dynamic the WF community is. A great mix of long term, experienced Warriors and a continual influx of new members, (some newbies, some experienced).

From time to time, I seem to notice waves of new members coming in all at once. Makes me curious, how did you find your way here?

I'll go first. I was a member of a mastermind group and someone suggested I check it out. I'm grateful they did. And you?

Back in 1997, when membership cost money, they had an affiliate program. One of the affiliates spammed me. Repeatedly. People who were around then can imagine what happened with that.

Finally, someone whose list I had actually signed up for sent me a recommendation. Mailed off the check, which is how we had to pay back then, and waited for Allen to email me the log-in info.

Paul I really dug you sharing that little piece of the pie. Interesting to see how today if someone asked you to mail a check you'd be like "uhhh... you don't have paypal?!"

Haha, anyway, when did this place go from paid status only to having a free section?

Long story to that. I'll keep it to the basic details.

There was no way to lock out people from the original forum. It had exactly one section, and anyone could sign up and read and post. You didn't get all the other goodies that came with paid membership that way, but eventually the forum itself became the bigger draw.

Around the same time that Allen moved it from Uni-Sol's system to another host (running it on Snitz software), he created a product with Bryan Kumar, which included the forum membership as a bonus. That was available with resale rights, which made it functionally impossible to track who had and had not paid for membership. Didn't matter much, because you could still find the place and get access without paying.

Then he moved it to vBulletin, and added the paid War Room membership, which brings it to a hybrid of the best parts of all the past versions.

I may have the timing off on the "membership included" product, but the rest is right. And that answered it, in much less space than I expected to take.

That must be the product I got in with cos I remember it was still paid when I joined up but my membership was a bonus. (Can't even remember what the product was now)

I found it when listening to a product I got. I wish I had known about it sooner. This place is almost like the yellow pages of what to do to make money on the internet.

And what is different about WF is there is not the same information overload that is in other places. It seems as if things are repeated here enough that you can begin to see what it takes to make things work.

A dozen or so years ago the web was littered with banner ads. After about a year, I decided to fork over the 15 or 20 dollars and see what it's about.

Probably earned my money back the first day.

LOL I had a similar experience. Got a spam mail from one of the affiliates. Don't recall whether I had to mail in the check (probably did) but I do remember sitting by the computer waiting for the access codes to show up.

For me, I seen someone post on another (business-oriented) forums basically saying:

"You're all wasting your time. Why don't you focus more on internet marketing [link to warrior forum] - that's where the real money is!"

(That's basically what the post said)

Naturally it didn't get a good response, but I'm glad I read (and was receptive towards) the post

Joseph Ratliff posted a list of good IM resources on his blog. The Warrior Forum was one of them.

At the time, I was trying to get my head around affiliate marketing, and really not having much luck. I still tend to avoid affiliate marketing, not because there's anything wrong with it, but just because I remember how frustrated I was.

Then I came here; a couple weeks later I needed to make money fast, and literally that day another Warrior posted a thread saying he needed a lot of articles really quickly and would basically hire anyone that could write coherent English.

Referring other good people here is another way to give back and help the community to continue to be as vibrant and helpful as it is.

Sharing the WF is a great way to add value and forge a stronger connection with customers and clients who have never been here.

I am moved by how many people remember EXACTLY who sent them here (and remain grateful to this day) even if it was long ago. Priceless long term goodwill!

Hey, are you sure you want to know the answer?

Well, there were these guys that were like the cool jocks that like to beat up nerds and they were joking around about this computer group called the warriors. Personally, I thought they were talking about wow.

Hey, they continued to make fun and joke around about the warriors. I thought it was an internet computer game. Well, they said that the warriors were losers that lived in the basement and paid rent to mom.

I saw a lot of hate and they said that the warriors needed to get T-shirts that say "I'm a nerd - kick me."

Hey, it was amusing. I had to go on the warrior forum to find out what it was all about so; here I am.

I think I was warned starting out to Stay Away from WF. I vaguely remember someone saying to me that there is a lot of backlash & naysayers on the forum and it would kill my 'faith' in what I was doing. This might of been his experience and it was also a few years ago. The forum might of been a different place back then.

Another reason given to me was that it will set me off track with all the different opportunities.

I think its safe to say over 2 years later and keeping away from the WF I had to still put up with the Nay Sayers and I still went down the route of trying everything and anything and having to focus in on one thing all without the 'help' of the Warrior Forum and Guess what?

I ended up here in the end.

So that's how I found out about the Forum. Offline Feedback.

So W.O.M is very much alive.

I was reading an IM blog when I was just starting out and there was a section on recommended resources with the Warrior Forum being one of them.

I still vaguely remember the words... Warrior Forum - the #1 Internet Marketing Forum on the Internet, you HAVE to get on this where all the top marketers hang out....

Something along those lines so naturally my interest got piqued and here I am!

I haven't been on any other IM forums like say DP but WF and the community has been so outstanding for me, I cannot see myself prowling anywhere else.

I'm hooked and loyal to Warrior Forum in particular Allen's war room gold mine

Who needs another forum when you've got the War Room?

I found WF by the recommendation that was made in rich jerk's ebook. The two sites he was raving about were ezine articles and warrior forum back then in 2005 they both did not have much traffic but today I can see why he was so excited about these sites

One of the hottest topics I've ever seen in this forum space.

I again found it in lots of business media directories, portals, where finding people for work is quite easy ...

This place is getting more & more traffic when it comes to some new hot topics posted every moment in the forum. People are curious to hear about new areas of information & finding frequent responses from other fellas.

Hope this forum goes on at this pace only....

  • I don't really remember how I found the WF forums, but I got here after 6 months doing IM the "commando way", meaning earning money without really knowing what I was doing: just experimenting and finding my own ways. When I first got here and started reading comments from more experienced marketers, I found myself saying "hey, I've been doing that without knowing I was doing it!" a number of times.

Then, I sold my forum and started being a little active here. :-)

    Hey All,

I found this thread going up from last 1 month. Its getting more hotter day by day as people are joining this thread with a lot of enthusiasm.

People through word of mouth, referrals, internet search, google search, & by means of new info search come to WF & keep on learning new things day by day.

Its really a nice place to learn whatever is coming up in the market place whether it is associated with a specific niche or to the whole community.

    Wishes for its long future.

Thanks for all the replies. It does indeed seem like reputation and word of mouth referrals keep people coming here to this great resource.
