Wordpress Changes My Affiliate Links!

OK so I'm a complete newbie to internet marketing . For some reason Wordpress changes my clickbank affiliate links to

wordpress.com/types-of-blogs
Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

My HTML format for the link even matches the format they use to change it to "types of blogs." Can somebody please help me get through this baloney before I rip out my hair trying to figure this out LOL.

I imagine it might be because wordpress.com does not allow affiliate links on their hosted blogs.

An obvious solution would be to read their TOS before signing up...

Weird, an easy solution is to use the plugin "Prety Links" that way you can just change affiliate links from the admin area homepage instead of getting into the code. I think that should help you...it's what I use.

I think that this will not work, as wordpress.com does not allow the use of plugins.

  • To use affiliate links you need to get your own web space and install Wordpress on it. This will give you full control over your blog and the revenue methods used on it. Whilst you're on Wordpress.com, you just can't use affiliate links - and it seems pointless building a blog that runs the risk of being shut down at any time.
