How much do you earn?

I'm now making anywhere between $10K and $15K a month, took me about 2 years to get there. There's no shortcut, it's all about hard work. I've been involved into SEO for a long time and a few months ago I started looking at PPC. Seems like I'm learning fast but I'm still far far away from making as much as some affiliates I know (takes them 3 days to earn what I make in a month). I'll get there though, just a matter of time...

It took you 2 years, eh? I just don't think that most people in the industry have been honest enough about how much hard work and time it really does take to make more than $10k/month. You'd hardly hear someone telling you it would take over 2 years of hard work.

20k to 30k a month. I started 3 years ago.

It depends on how much I work! If I have a slacker month and don't do much, go on vacation, etc. then I might only bring in a few hundred. If I actually work, I'll bring in a couple/few thousand.

I think success depends on whether you're really treating it like a proper business.

It strange because once you do start to make some good money, you realize that it's not that hard and often wonder why it took so long to start making money in the first place.

It took me about 3 years to make it consistently and I put that down to me:

a) Not being educated enough on making money online
b) Not having a proven plan to follow
c) Giving up to soon
d) Jumping on-board the next big hyped up strategy before properly testing the last one I'd started on

I did make some on and off money during the 3 years that I didn't, but often I had no idea where that had come from, like I got a cheque in the post for $60 because I'd made a couple of random affiliate sales, but the chances are I'd probs spent more on my advertising costs then anyway.

There are many different ways to make money online whether you are using CPA, Clickbank, building a list, seo, PPC...

It's best to pick a strategy that you feel most comfortable / confident with and become a master of it (ignore any hyped up products that fly your way).

As it's far better to be a master of one strategy otherwise you'll end up being a jack of all trades master of one.

I think it's very hard to estimate now how long it should take someone to start earning consistent money when you're talking generally because you don't know what information they are using...

I personally feel though that If I sat down with somebody and explained everything I do, I could teach that person how to do it and start earning consistent money within 1-3 months (shortcutting the time it would have taken them to find out on their own)

Might have completely missed the point of this message and gone off on a tangent a bit, but hopefully it's helpful anyway :-)

I make around 15% more than the average Australian graduate wage working only 10-12 per week online. Feels good.

I have two products, one make several tens every month, it take two years,but not SEO only one web.
The other produts havn't earnings.

Middlesbrough.. but I spend most of my time in Newcastle these days :-)

How about yourself?

How many people have moved on from affiliate to ecommerce? Just wondering as thats the plan I've set for myself (To build up a portfolio of high performing affiliate sites and then transform them into sites that sell product). I can see that making alot of money from only affiliate would require a LOT of work, however taking a few well performing affiliate sites and increasing the margins by actually buying stock would be easier.

Yeah you've definitely got to stick at one until you make it profitable.

For example some people throw up a niche blog and often instantly expect it to hit no1 on Google in the first couple of weeks, when often you may not see results til 3-4 weeks, sometimes even longer depending on the competition.

One thing I used to do was start one campaign and then a big launch would happen, so I'd instantly jump on-board and buy that thinking that this must be the new "easiest" way to make money online, and it "MUST" be better than the previous method I was trying.

Of course by the time I'd starting getting this campaign underway, the next big launch would happen and I'd once again move on.

Many products even though they are hyped up are good products, which is why they sell and obviously work for the people selling them...but often it's just another strategy that could work, and the previous strategy probably would work just as well as the 1 you've jumped on-board to...

My advice to anybody that's not making money yet, but wants to is to do the following:

1) Ignore 99% of your emails... because they'll probably be a product launch, or something that can distract you... you'll end up thinking the product is better than what your currently doing (when it's not) and probably jump ship.

2) Stay focused. Grab yourself a notepad, and write out your strategy, and make sure you are consistent with following it. I don't get technical, I just have a notepad and a to-do list for the day ahead :-)
