What's the hardest subject to write articles about?

What's the hardest subject to write articles about? I think the difficulty of writing about a subject is a factor in the cost of the article. I have been looking at topics and I consider "hard" topics to be: forex, politics, economics financial, etc.

"Easy" topics include: make money online, lose weight, ebay.

Do you differentiate between topics and would you pay more for an article on a "hard" topic.

If you are an article writer what do find easiest and hardest to write about and do you set your prices accordingly?

Easy topics for me are topics like losing weight and curing bad breath.

More difficult topics for me are topics that involve something technical or political topics.

The good thing for me is that I usually don't mind writing on topics that I know very little about because I get to learn a bit while researching and writing.

For most people probably a topic they don't know about and research involves
a learning curve including learning new terms, jargon, etc.

There is no subject that is difficult to write about. If you are able to research the topic, you are able write about it. Because, obviously, somebody else has already written about the topic... otherwise how would you be able to research it?

What makes a topic more difficult to write about, in my opinion, might be depending on one's interest in the topic. If you have absolutely zero interest and zero intellectual curiosity about the subject of the article you are writing, it will be difficult for you to write about it.

As article marketers, we are not seeking necessarily to become indepth subject matter experts on the topic at hand. We are not writing dissertations. We are basically in the business of connecting buyer to product, by providing them information about the subject at hand.

Roberts' Rules of Order and the principles of Boolean logic are where I'd start with that. Probably also some examination of the difference between hypothesis and theory.

Thanks for your comments guys , they're were very useful.

There seems to be ton of PLR content on certain topics stop smoking etc. But hardly any or none in the more specialized smaller niches. If someone is an article writer it might pay to become an expert in some topics,, even do course on a specialized topic and then just write articles about that. I think you could charge much more.

With some topics even rewriting requires a certain level of expertise, you have to really comprehend the articles you are researching in the first place.

I price my articles according to the research involved. There are very few topics that I can't handle but I'm upfront about those. I really don't think any amount of research will enable a person who's tech-challenged to come up with a believable technical article, so I don't do technical topics.

Otherwise, anything can be researched if you know where to look but not every customer needs in-depth research. That's why I give a choice.

I would say something along the lines of financial or scientific. Basically, if you are writing an article about a niche where you do not have any knowledge it could waste a lot of time.

I think writing an article on a subject that you have absolutey no interest in at all would be difficult. It would kind of be like back when you were in school and you just zoned out on geography or algebra or government class, for example.

On the flip side, the easiest subjects to write on would be those that you are passionate about or have a love for.

Just having a vast working knowledge of something due to a previous career say, is helpful but if it isn't one of your passions, it can still be kind of boring at times.

Good Lord, I could write about that all day. There are no right answers. You could say anything and find plenty of evidence to support it. You could say something like:

"The prevailing stigma against Nigerian business is good for the Nigerian economy and the Nigerian people."

Hell, I could write five or ten 500 word articles on that subject alone. And then I could turn around and write five or ten more articles on why it's bad. Soft sciences are a freakin' gold mine. Two sides to every question. No answer better than any other. So much data, and so much of it contradictory, you can cherry-pick sources and make a solid, rational argument for anything at all.

There's really no topic that's too difficult - there are just topics that require you to do more research than others. Writing an article on how to launch the space shuttle would just take me longer to research and put into layman's terms

Personally, I sometimes find it more difficult to write about the "big" niches, like health, weight loss, or smoking - because I want my stuff to be different than everything else. Sometimes, I find that a niche is so saturated that it takes some time to think outside the box and come up with something unique.

There's a human element to any subject, isn't there? As someone who's written hundreds of articles and reports for the self help markets over many years, I'd say that pretty much any topic requires a mindset to absorb it or succeed at it. Then there are decisions to be made - how do you decide? Some things need more confidence or self esteem ... and so on.

Whilst I'd agree that some subjects do need more in depth research than others, relating them to the human side always means there's an "angle" for a writer.

In addition, writing for website or blog owners, (I've done a fair bit of ghost writing too), means that they're always looking for a "how to" approach, not a technical one. I wouldn't have a clue about rocket science as a topic, but I'd have a good stab at a piece for someone who had ambitions to become one. (I might put a high price tag on this in case there are any challengers out there! ;-) )

      It's a dozy, but its a winner!

All humor aside, I've got just about a dozen content providers who all have different levels of writing skills, abilities and niche specialties and no subject is beyond their reach.

I wrestle with the same distaste, but I've started just saying outright what I think of it, and it actually seems to work pretty well. There's a lot of distaste for those things out there, it seems, and it resonates with people to see someone else say it out loud.

Writing about things I know is easy, but not as interesting for me as writing about something new. As others have said, I enjoy the research and I love putting something that may look complicated into Nikkispeak - which means if I can understand this, anyone can.

It's funny, I had a client asking me to write forex articles for him. At first, I thought it would be difficult, but I found so many videos about forex that and it ended up being a breeze...

Yes, prices vary on the number of articles and the kind of niche to be written.

Hard topics are those niche with technical and medical terms.

Yes. I think most of article writers differentiate the cost between topics. People must pay more on what we have done with more effort.

If I were an article writer, personally, I would consider the technology topic to be the hardest, and fashion or anything related to women is the easiest.

OK, You've all brought up good subjects that could be hard to write about but...
My worst nightmare in an article would be writing about my mother in law!

The problem isn't writing the articles. The problem is with the editor(My Wife).
I'm not sure I could get my points across if you understand where I'm coming from?

This is funny - the hardest things for me to write on are the easy, useless fluff. I've been asked to write about cell phones, people search, etc - and the answer is no. Subjects like that leave me staring at the wall with nothing to say.

But give me something I can dig into and I'm fine. I like research - always learn something new.
