Does it make any sense to do this?

Hello,

Quick question. Should I be pinging my ezine articles, go articles etc. or should I only be pinging blog sites I may have posted to?

Is there any danger of pinging a number of sites that I have updated on the same day? For example, say I update my Hubpages, Blogger, Wordpress.com, article sites (Go Articles etc.) with new content and all of the new content contains links back to my feeder site (self hosted wordpress blog), will Google get angry at me because all of a sudden I have these new links with little to no traffic and am calling their bots to check out the new content? Or say I had traffic, does that even make a difference in this scenerio.

Exact same question for bookmarking the above at the same time with sites like identi.ca or sumble upon etc. When is it too much that it will negatively affect my site and is one pingin site like pingomatic enough?

    Here is what I do.

    All my blogs are automatically set to ping when updated, I used to ping manually with ping-o-matic.

    With social pages such as articles and huib pages I bookmark only, Google will never be angry with you for having links pointing into your websites, regardless to if they have traffic or not.

    Do your keyword research and you should find some of your articles and hubpages ranking well and generating their own traffic, along with bookmarking and some backlinking of course .

    There should be no danger in pinging a site if you have only a couple of posts to that site in a day. The danger comes in if you start to excessively ping a site, so Google may think that you are spamming

    I ping my articles when I put them on my blog. A day or two later when I put them on EA and GOArticles I ping them again - and then I start to bookmark.
    I've never had a problem with this technique.
