Forum Suggestion - What about a "Want To Buy" section?

I have posted a number of threads in the main forum asking for warrior service providers. And I have seen many others doing it as well. You post, get a couple of responses, make a deal and the thread is dead. This can clog up the main forum.

What about a WTB section? Post what you are looking for and service providers can contact you.

I know there is a section where service providers can post their offers, but sometimes you are looking for something spesific that a lot of warrior can do, but they did not post it in there. Or you have to contact 4 or 5 before you get a response.

Of course there are a lot of things to take into consideration from a management point of view. But this is just a suggesstion.

Regards,

Sam

This has been brought up quite a bit lately, and I can only see one way to keep it relatively free of the kind of gaming that would make it a problem: All replies would have to be via PM to the poster. That shouldn't be a problem for most people, and it would keep it from getting into a new kind of shilling.

I have no clue if Allen would be interested in the idea, but it's worth suggesting.

    Hi Paul,

All replies via PM is a good route to go. People who want to offer their service that don't have enough posts will have to become full members (which is only fair if they want to offer their services here).

Don't want to over complicate things, but there can also be a model where you can become a Warrior Certified Service Provider. Only WCSP can reply to posts in that section of the forum. Qualifying criteria may include overall contribution to the forum (post count, number of thanks etc) and at least 10 testimonials from other warrior members who have used their service.

Pull together a team of 10 volunteers (I for one will volunteer) to handle the vetting of applications. Charge potential service providers a once off fee (if they are accepted, fee is charged, not accepted fee is refunded). Volunteers will then go through applications and approve or reject applicants based on criteria.

I think it would be wonderfull to be able to post in such a forum and have Warrior Certified Service Providers contact me with offers.
