Hi,

Just been doing some weekly planning when it comes to marketing and traffic.

I set aside 2 hours a day(after work) and focus only on the task at hand.
ie: mon- articles/promotion/bookmark
tues- email promo to list and research other products
wed- ppc/ look for JV etc
thurs- web development(vids/testing etc)
fri- links wheel/keyword research
sat-?
sun?

how do you structure your week? do you stick to a plan? Is it working?
How many hours a week do you put in online?

cheers

I personally just write out a small list of things that I need to do, then cross them out as I go along.

Its very important that you plan ahead, then break everything down into smaller chunks. It saves a LOT of time and meandering - Don't try and make it up as you go along...

    Thats a recipe for disaster!

Good that you have a plan though. If you can, try and segment them out as much as possible. Then when you start generating some revenue you can put those tasks on auto pilot and move onto higher value activity.

    Hi Ponty,
I suppose which way round you do it doesn't really matter. My biggest frustration is reading my new emails as they come in, especially from all of us very nice internet marketers. If you decide to open the mails during your day you will never get any work done, so I leave the offers until the nd of the day or even the weekend. Don't get distracted.

    All the best,
    Mark

Write down a list on paper for the whole week, and follow that plan for that week.

Nowadays my list notes usually consist of:
    1) Rinse and repeat
    2) Check the daily amount of vast profits that I have just generated that day

To my eyes your approach is hap hazard. If I worked like that I would never get anything done.

For instance I may spend a month just purely focussing on article marketing. During that month I will develop the perfect process and write it up into detailed instruction book that anyone could follow.

Once I have my killer and profitable method working I will get an outsourcer to take over those responsibilities and move onto my next traffic source, to develop another system.

I find if I try and do everything at same time then I will just end up with lots of half finished ideas and projects.

Well it looks like you are on the right track ponty...creating a schedule and trying to stick to it. And good for you for putting in the commitment and time needed to move your business forward. I know how challenging it can be when you are working.

My routine is take 10-15 minutes to plan my day. I like to write on a white board b/c it allows me see what needs to be done and cross off as I go along. It's in my face and it allows me to be more productive. I also give time limits to each task.

      My days are pretty standard:
1-2 hours content creation, article marketing, etc.
      - 3-5 comments on blogs
      -2-5 comments in forums
      - 30 hour on twitter and facebook
      1-2 hours product creation
      1/2 - 1 hour - checking and answering emails
      1 hour plus miscellaneous tasks

I use Google analytics quite a bit to track my results. If I see I get a lot of traffic from one particular blog or social networking site, I adjust my schedule to include that area more and less of the ones not proving to be as productive.

For example, I get quite a bit of traffic from Twitter, so I tend to focus more of my allotted time to that site than Facebook.

Of course, you time is more restricted so your time limits will be narrower so planning is really going to be key for you so you are focused and intentional.

      Good luck!
