What you consider the best free wordpress template?

I am looking to see what people find is the best wordpress template that they have used that is free. Meaning for looks and profit returns from their blog on which one has done the best for them.

there are tons. my advice is although there are some nice ones you can get from WP, you'd be better off finding themes from other free WP theme sites.

these tend to be much cleaner and attractive in design.

The best ones are ones I customize for a particular task myself. I have a very stripped down base template I use and just add onto it as needed.

I am partial to Justin Tadlock's magazine themes (Visionary, Options, Structure) though.

As of Nov 1, it may well be the new Open Source Revolution themes, but as has been stated already, its a matter of what your plans are and what your tastes are.

Your question is sorta like who is the who is the prettiest girl in the world.

Everyone has a different choice.
