Hey Guys,

So today.. I'm browsing looking for people stealing my products etc, so one of those "fake' sites pops up, one of the ones that use your keywords for some crappy site.

So I click on it, thinking I'm about to find my stolen products, and then suddenly, some not so nice pictures fill the screen. What I don't get is how google doesn't notice when they index these sites!

Do you think it's at all ethical for these people to generate keywords, then throw them up on a page, to get traffic to there naked women sites.

I think it's disgusting. Luckily my back button worked fast today.

is it stealing your keyword or stealing your content? how can someone steal your keywords unless they are patented? if someone else is using the same keyword as you, then there is nothing unethical about it as anyone can do a kw research and use the same kw. after all, its a competitive world.

if someone is stealing your content, then thats different. unethical for sure, but thats the nature of the industry where we have to live with some thieves and trying eyes. you can however file complaint with google under DMCA if your content is stolen

Caleb, today you wandered into the seamy underbelly of the Internet. It's a basic bait and switch deal, where the pages you see take you someplace you weren't expecting to go.

Odds are pretty good that their setup shows something completely different to the Googlebot and other spiders. So it's not a matter of whether Google notices or not , because when G visits, those links aren't there to notice.

When it comes to ethics, the Internet's red light district is right up there with carnies, three-card monte dealers, and used car salesmen. Although not quite down to the level of politicians...
